  • Patent number: 5788997
Abstract: A dough sheeting system comprising a cutter assembly for pulling and cutting elongated chunks of dough from a hopper containing dough is disclosed. A receiving surface is disposed beneath the cutter assembly. A motor advances the receiving surface in a direction of dough feed. A calendar assembly for receives dough output by the receiving surface and outputs a sheet of dough. A level sensor for monitoring the height of accumulated dough at the input of the calendar assembly and for producing a signal when the input exceeds a predetermined level. The motor is responsive to the signal from the level sensor to stop advancing the receiving surface when the level exceeds the predetermined level and is responsive to the signal when the height is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5788998
Abstract: The invention relates to an adjustable throttle with which to influence the mass flow within a rectangular flow channel or a flat flow channel with rounded marginal areas. Because of its special design, the throttle has no parting plane perpendicular to the fluid flow direction. The channel height may be modified by this throttle, so that the fluid mass flow may be influenced by changing the local flow channel resistance as a function of its width without creating discontinuities in the flow channel. Because of this continuous change in the geometry of the flow channel, both in the direction of its width and in the flow direction, the whole flow channel is totally free from dead spots.

  • Patent number: 5783224
Abstract: A reconfigurable injection mold machine (10) having a fixed mold body (60, 60') and two movable mold bodies (62, 62' and 64, 64') that can be automatically repositioned with respect to each other to make different mold cavities for molding different parts. The three mold bodies (60,60', 62,62' and 64,64') each include a laminate subassembly (140,140', 142,142', 144,144') composed of a plurality of laminates (162,162', 164,164', 204,204', 234,234') and a mounting frame (146,146', 192,192', 218,218') arranged to hold and position the laminates during assembly to the mold. The mounting frame permits preassembly of the laminates on the workbench into a subassembly (140,140', 142,142', 144,144') that is then easily inserted into an opening in the mold (60,60', 62,62' and 64,64') and secured in place.

  • Patent number: 5780068
Abstract: A fixed split mold and a movable split mold are clamped with each other to define a cavity for molding an optical disk. An annular tapered unit of the fixed mold includes a flange member and a tapered member threadably engaged with the flange member and having a tapered outer peripheral surface. The movable mold includes a base member and a tapered flange member having a tapered inner peripheral surface having an inclination equivalent to that of the tapered outer peripheral surface. After the fixed mold and movable mold are clamped to align the first and second molds, the mold assembly is mounted on and secured to a molding machine. Then, the bolts and nuts are removed and the tapered member is detached. Subsequent successive closing and opening operations of the mold assembly for molding operations do not cause any unevenness of the depth of the cavity, thereby obtaining a uniform thickness in the products which are also free from birefringence.

  • Patent number: 5762967
Abstract: A elastically and reversibly deformable rubber mold for producing powder compacts is made of a material at least a part of which is a mixture of rubber and magnetic powder. In use, this rubber mold filled with the magnetic powder and subjected to a magnetic field and pressure with punches, thereby compressing the powder to form powder compact. This makes the distribution of magnetic field in the cavity of the rubber mold more homogeneous, and therefore, the distortion, cracking and chipping caused by inhomogeneity of the distribution of the magnetic field are reduced, so that the shape of the resultant powder compact is closer to the end product.

  • Patent number: 5762972
Abstract: An apparatus performs induction heating or dielectric heating of a mold for an injection molding system up to a desired temperature within a short time by using high frequencies or microwaves. The electric current of high frequency generated from a high frequency generator flows through a coil embedded in the mold to induction-heat the mold by an induction phenomenon with the mold, and microwaves from a microwave generator heats the dielectric material within the mold, thereby preventing cooling of the mold when a resin fluid is injected into a cavity.

  • Patent number: 5759588
Abstract: In a mold press forming process for integrally molding a resin core member and a surface skin member, prior to the step of forming the resin core member, a surface skin member is retained between an upper die half and a lower die half by a surface skin retaining frame which consists of a fixed segment and a moveable segment. The moveable segment is moved vertically relatively to the fixed segment to better adapt the surface skin member to a three-dimensional parting line between the upper and lower half dies. When mounting the surface skin member onto the surface skin retaining frame presents a planar mounting surface, the mounting work is facilitated, and automated mounting devices can be used without any problem.

  • Patent number: 5755844
Abstract: A resin-made air cleaner includes a hollow resin-made housing, a tubular element accommodated in the housing, a tubular projection, a gasket fitted around the tubular projection, and disposed between the tubular element and the tubular projection, a stopper for inhibiting the gasket from moving. The tubular projection is disposed on at least one of opposite end surfaces of the housing so as to project toward the inside of the housing. The stopper is disposed on the projection and/or the opposite end surfaces of the housing, on which the projection is disposed. This arrangement not only enables the increase of the resin content of the air cleaner, but also inhibits the gasket from coming off from the projection when the element is disassembled.

  • Patent number: 5753272
Abstract: Apparatus for manufacturing a composite insulator including an FRP core rod which is integrally provided with a sheath and a plurality of sheds formed of an electrically insulating polymeric material. The core rod has a longitudinal end portion provided with a seat for a metal fitting, which is integral with the sheath. To manufacture such a composite insulator, the core rod is placed in a mold cavity of a mold assembly, with a seat forming member detachably fitted to the end portion of the core rod and arranged between a pair of mold halves. An inner space is formed between a seat forming member and the core rod, which is in communication with the mold cavity. An electrically insulating polymeric material is introduced into the mold cavity to form the sheath and sheds, while admitting the polymeric material into the space between the seat forming member and the core rod so as to form a seat for the metal fitting, which is essentially free from burrs.
