  • Patent number: 11864267
Abstract: This Application describes mechanisms to transfer cellular service plans and associated credentials efficiently between wireless devices. Information regarding transferability of cellular services for SIMs/eSIMs to a wireless device are obtained from locally stored or remotely accessible cellular service information and/or associated mobile network operator (MNO) information. Access to network-based servers to determine transferability and/or to effect transfer can use non-cellular connections when available. Transferability information can be presented to a user to narrow selection of cellular service plans to transfer.

  • Patent number: 11856474
Abstract: Techniques for providing proximity based messages are discussed herein. Some embodiments may include one or more servers configured to receive proximity message requests from a consumer device. The requests may include consumer device locations, which may be used by the one or more servers to generate a geofence set. Furthermore, the consumer device location may be used as a basis for selecting notification data relevant to the location. Both the geofence set and the notification data may be sent to the consumer device in a single proximity message response for local notification creation if the notification data can be collected within a maximum response time. The notification data may be provided via a push notification server asynchronously if the notification data cannot be collected within the maximum response time.

  • Patent number: 11818677
Abstract: When a serving call session control function (S-CSCF) of a mobile network fails or is otherwise unavailable, over-the-top (OTT) services for a mobile terminating (MT) user equipment (UE) may be disrupted, as the network may lack routing information for sending invites and/or services to the corresponding OTT application(s). According to the disclosure, OTT services can be restored by sending an out-of-band message to an OTT application to cause that OTT application to reregister with the mobile network to establish new pathways for providing OTT services from the mobile network. An application server, in cooperation with a secure push proxy (SPP) system, can send push notifications to OTT applications of a MT UE when that MT UE is associated with OTT services and when the OTT applications are not registered with the mobile network. The push notifications cause the OTT applications to reregister with the mobile network to restore OTT services.

  • Patent number: 11792626
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided in accordance with example embodiments for providing a combined service discovery and connection setup for a fifth-generation (5G) service-based architecture (SBA), and particularly for streamlined provisioning of services associated with a network repository function (NRF) from network function (NF) service providers to NF service consumers. In some embodiments, the NRF can register NF service providers by, at least, identifying supported transport layer network protocols (TLNPs) and then identifying for the NF service consumer only services associated with NF service providers supporting the same TNLP so that a further suitability handshake between the NF service consumer and the NF service provider is not required.

  • Patent number: 11785434
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing additional functions on a user equipment (UE) with an over-the-top (OTT) application are disclosed. The systems and methods can enable the UE to register with a telephony application server (TAS) using a subscriber identity module identification (SIM ID). The registration can enable communications directed to a cellular number, for example, to be redirected to the UE via a Wi-Fi connection through a wireless residential gateway (WRG). The OTT application can enable the UE to utilize the SIM ID to send and receive communications via a cellular network, an internet protocol (IP) network, or both. The OTT application can also provide applications and capabilities that are not otherwise available on the UE. An OTT settings graphical user interface (GUI) can enable the user to dynamically configure how communications are sent and received in response to changing conditions or preferences.
