  • Patent number: 11389991
Abstract: A method for slicing a workpiece with a wire saw which includes a wire row formed by winding a fixed abrasive grain wire having abrasive grains secured to a surface thereof around a plurality of grooved rollers, the wire being fed from one of a pair of wire reels and taken up by another, the method including feeding a workpiece to the row for slicing while allowing the wire to reciprocate and travel in an axial direction, thereby slicing the workpiece at a plurality of positions aligned in an axial direction of the workpiece simultaneously. Prior to slicing, an abrasive-grain abrading step wherein the wire is allowed to travel without slicing the workpiece, allowing the wire to rub against itself within the reels, and dressing its surface for 30 minutes or more. The method can dress a fixed abrasive grain wire at low cost and suppress thickness unevenness of wafers.

  • Patent number: 11370082
Abstract: A chemical-mechanical polishing/planarization pad conditioner body made from diamond-reinforced reaction bonded silicon carbide, with diamond particles protruding or “standing proud” of the rest of the surface, and uniformly distributed on the cutting surface. In one embodiment, the diamond particles are approximately uniformly distributed throughout the composite, but in other embodiments they are preferentially located at and near the conditioning surface. The tops of the diamond particles can be engineered to be at a constant elevation (i.e., the conditioner body can be engineered to be very flat). Exemplary shapes of the body may be disc or toroidal. The diamond particles can be made to protrude from the conditioning surface by preferentially eroding the Si/SiC matrix. The eroding may be accomplished by electrical discharge machining or by lapping/polishing with abrasive.

  • Patent number: 11364741
Abstract: A device is provided for changing a wheel of a vehicle comprising a carriage assembly including two platform elements running longitudinally with one another and substantially parallel. First and second swingarms are connected to respective platform elements. The swingarms are rotatably positionable at a desired height above the carriage. A lift mechanism selectively raises or lowers the carriage during use. A tow bar allows the carriage to be pushed or pulled on wheels mounted to the carriage. A method of the invention includes mounting the wheel on the platform elements, raising free ends of the swingarms to a desired height so a knock out bar may be placed through a hub of the wheel, operating the lift mechanism to raise the wheel to a desired height, and aligning the wheel with the vehicle so the wheel may be secured to the vehicle.
