  • Patent number: 11022389
Abstract: Techniques and architectures are disclosed for a gas operating system for a firearm. The system includes a barrel having a bore including a rifled portion. Attached to the barrel is a gas block. Located distally of the rifled portion of the bore is a gas expansion chamber in fluid communication with the bore and the gas block. In some examples, the gas expansion chamber includes a diameter at least twice the bore diameter. The gas block of the gas operating system, in some examples, includes a piston, where in response to receiving gases from the gas expansion chamber, the piston cycles the gas operating system.

  • Patent number: 11022392
Abstract: A safety lock for a firearm comprises a casing, a releasable locking member at a second end, and a flexible member between the first end and the second end. When the lock is installed on the firearm, the lock extends along the barrel from the chamber to the muzzle end. When in the locked position, the casing is positioned in the chamber and the flexible member extends along the barrel, an ammunition round from being loaded. The safety lock allows a user to dry fire the firearm.

  • Patent number: 11015886
Abstract: Present invention discloses a rifle charging handle where one or two polymer pieces are made to fit over a T distal end of a main rigid body. A small protrusion on a hook shape latch, with limited elasticity, provides the locking mechanism to the upper receiver. The polymer pieces are secured by screws or other means; they provide a cost-effective option for ambidexterity variation and reduce metal wear on the upper receiver. The polymer pieces can also be secured to the main rigid body via a click-tab/click-hole mechanism. Other composite materials can be used to make the polymer pieces as long as they provide substantially similar rigidness and limited elasticity.

  • Patent number: 11015883
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a modified rifle bolt carrier allowing a selectively openable vent/valve at the location where exhaust gas is pressurizing the bolt carrier to control carrier speed under suppressed fire in a first valve position or unsuppressed fire in a second valve position. A valve core is disclosed which may be rotated 180° to a first “open” setting for non-suppressed fire from its position in a “closed” position for suppressed fire, and a third “median” position. The modified bolt carrier will allow an operator of the firearm to adjust for a suppressor without changing the gas block or having to modify or adapt the front end or barrel end of the firearm.

  • Patent number: 11009303
Abstract: The barrel of a pistol, specifically in a short recoil operated pistol, is comprised of multiple bearings surfaces comprised of cams and lugs that allow the pistol to function. The surfaces mechanically delay the pistol enough to allow the pistol to reliably function in the manner of an automatic firearm, chambering a round at the end of each cycle of operation. A barrel that locates a forward lug positioned horizontally in front of the trigger guard of the pistol with side cams that are shallow and interact in a way to provide the pistol with a robust and consistent lock up from shot to shot to provide an advantage in the function of the firearm.

  • Patent number: 10996034
Abstract: An irritation member having a housing, wherein the housing has a front side and a rear side, as well as lateral surfaces connecting the front side and the rear side. The front side and rear side are larger than the lateral surfaces, thereby producing a parallelepipedal housing. The irritation member has blow-out openings on the lateral surfaces and an actuation element that is provided in a recess of the housing. In the event of non-actuation, the actuation element is thereby received in the recess of the housing and thus does not increase the size of the housing. As a result, the irritation member does not look like a conventional irritation member.

  • Patent number: 10940931
Abstract: A craft having a source of deuterium-containing micro-fusion fuel particles is operable above a planetary, lunar or asteroid surface in the presence of ambient cosmic rays. The fuel particles are dispersible from a set of ports, where at least some of the ports are in an underside of the craft body and others are in lateral sides of the craft body. Dispersed fuel particles interact with ambient cosmic rays and muons to generate energetic reaction products, at least some which are then received by the underside of the craft to generate lift and also selected lateral sides of the craft to generate propulsive thrust in a desired lateral direction. The craft can carry tethers and winches to carry a payload above the surface from location to another. In another embodiment, a balloon-based design, such as a dirigible, provides primary buoyant lift, while the micro-fusion particles provide at least lateral thrust, and supplemental lift where needed.

  • Patent number: 10933988
Abstract: Sounds are generated by an aerial vehicle during operation. For example, the motors and propellers of an aerial vehicle generate sounds during operation. Disclosed are systems, methods, and apparatus for actively adjusting the position of one or more propeller blade treatments of a propeller blade of an aerial vehicle during operation of the aerial vehicle. For example, the propeller blade may have one or more propeller blade treatments that may be adjusted between two or more positions. Based on the position of the propeller blade treatments, the airflow over the propeller is altered, thereby altering the sound generated by the propeller when rotating. By altering the propeller blade treatments on multiple propeller blades of the aerial vehicle, the different sounds generated by the different propeller blades may effectively cancel, reduce, and/or otherwise alter the total sound generated by the aerial vehicle.
