  • Patent number: 10378838
Abstract: A slide block mechanism for a semi-automatic pistol that locks the slide in battery and prevents the slide from reciprocating when the pistol is discharged. The slide block mechanism consists of a pair of aligned notches formed in the bottom edge of the slide and the top of the frame, and a pivoting slide block lever mounted to the frame that selectively seats within either of the aligned notches. The slide block lever can be manually switched to engage and disengage the slide block mechanism and is independent of the fire control and slide stop assemblies. The slide block lever has a protrusion that seats within the slide notch when engaged to prevent the slide from moving rearward and seats within the frame notch when disengaged for allowing normal operation of the slide.

  • Patent number: 10377511
Abstract: A spacecraft propulsion method uses cosmic ray triggered nuclear micro-fusion events to provide repeated or continuous thrust for artificial gravity during a space flight. In one embodiment, successive packages of deuterium-containing micro-fusion particle fuel material is projected in a specified direction outward from a spacecraft. In another embodiment, the micro-fusion fuel material is a coating upon a set of angled rings arranged circumferentially around the spacecraft. In a third embodiment, the micro-fusion fuel is dispersed in proximity to “wind” turbines to generate electricity for ion thrusters. In each case, the material interacts with the ambient flux of cosmic rays to generate micro-fusion products having kinetic energy that either produce thrust upon the spacecraft or drive the turbines whose electrical output in turn powers the ion thrusters.

  • Patent number: 10337809
Abstract: A magazine for storing cased telescoped (CT) cartridges. The magazine includes vertically extending side-wall ribs that project inwards into a loading channel. The side-wall ribs are positioned in alignment with a circumferential groove in each CT cartridge. The side-wall ribs prevent a backwards oriented CT cartridge from being pushed from the loading position through the loading channel into a body of the magazine. A moveable lip at the top of the magazine may move out of the way when the magazine is attached to a firearm, to allow the CT cartridge located in the loading position to be fed vertically out of the top of magazine. Each CT cartridge may include a thermal protective insert that provides thermal insulation from heat emanating from a barrel of a firearm when the CT cartridge is located in a chamber of the firearm.
