  • Patent number: 10529253
Abstract: The invention is a method for organizing biomedical resource information and generating images and text by depicting, describing and relating biological structures, biological measurements and biological processes through the association of digital graphs and digital templates, the computer programmes and databases for performing the method, and the images, text and animations so generated. The method makes use of rules to lay out circuit diagrams consisting of depictions of biological processes, measurements, and biological structures that participate in biological processes. In the circuit diagram the transition process of physical entities such as materials, or forms of energy like heat, or energy density like pressure, is drawn as a graph of lines and nodes. In the circuit diagram, the biological structures conveying or participating in the transition process are drawn as two-dimensional or three-dimensional layered units representing the structure of conveying conduits and their content.

  • Patent number: 10438509
Abstract: A systems, methods, and products for language learning software that automatically extracts text from corpora using various natural-language processing product features, which can be combined with custom-designed learning activities to offer a needs-based, adaptive learning methodology. The system may receive a text, extract keywords pedagogically valuable to non-native language learning, assign a difficulty score to the text using various linguistic attributes of the text, generate a list of potential distractors for each keyword in the text to implement in learning activities, and topically tag the text against a taxonomy based on the content. This output is then used in conjunction with a series of learning activity-types designed to meet learners' language skill needs and then used to create dynamic, adaptive activities for them.

  • Patent number: 10424224
Abstract: A glove for use in collecting data for sign language recognition comprises: multiple azimuth sensors arranged on the glove at positions corresponding to the phalanges and metacarpal bones of the hand and used for sensing postures of the hand. The azimuth sensors are only arranged on the glove at positions corresponding to the phalanges of the hand other than the distal phalange in proximity to the fingertip of at least one finger among the middle finger, the index finger, the ring finger, and the little finger. The glove reduces the number of the azimuth sensors arranged on the glove at positions corresponding to the phalanges of the hand, thus reducing costs while not affecting detection performance.
