    Abstract: A method for preparing a molecular sieving metallosilicate is disclosed which comprises(A) providing an aqueous dispersion of colloidal particles comprising contiguous mixtures of silica and the oxide of a transition metal selected from the group consisting of Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Zn, Zr, Y or a mixture of two or more of said metals;(B) mixing an effective amount of a mineralizing agent and/or synthesis directing agent with said dispersion to form a gel; and(C) maintaining said gel at a temperature of about 80.degree. C. to about 300.degree. C. for an effective period of time to provide said metallosilicate.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to siliceous zeolite catalysts produced by a method which includes selecting an amount of aluminum framework species to be retained in a zeolite catalyst product, and use of a silicon substitution treatment to replace more reactive framework species used to control aluminum framework concentration. This technique substantially preserves the selected amount of the aluminum framework species. The zeolite product obtained has high reactivity and stability.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a zeolite having a composition of the following formula: xM.sub.2/n O.Al.sub.2 O.sub.3.(5-10)SiO.sub.2.yH.sub.2 O wherein M is at least one cation having a valency of n, and x is 0.8-2 and y is 0-10, and exhibiting an X-ray powder diffraction pattern shown in Table 1. This zeolite is prepared by a process wherein a reaction mixture comprising a silica source, an alumina source, an alkali source, a potassium source and water and having a composition satisfying the following molar ratios: SiO.sub.2 /Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 =6-40, OH/SiO.sub.2 =0.3-1, K.sub.2 O/M.sub.2 O=0.1-0.9 (M: the total of alkali metals), and H.sub.2 O/SiO.sub.2 =10-70, is crystallized at 120.degree. to 200.degree. C. with stirring. The zeolite is also prepared by a process wherein a granular amorphous aluminosilicate containing aluminum in an amount of 4 to 22 wt. % as Al.sub.2 O.sub.

C.

The X-ray diffraction pattern for these metallosilicates indicates a ZSM-5 like crystalline structure. A method for making these metallosilicates, and a method for dehydrating and reforming methanol using these metallosilicates are disclosed.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of preparing B-trichloroborazine, B.sub.3 N.sub.3 Cl.sub.3 H.sub.3. Generally, the method includes the combination of gaseous boron trichloride in an anhydrous aprotic organic solvent followed by addition of excess gaseous ammonia at ambient temperature or below. The reaction mixture is heated to between about 100.degree. to 140.degree. C. followed by cooling, removal of the solid ammonium chloride at ambient temperature, distillation of the solvent under vacuum if necessary at a temperature of up to about 112.degree. C., and recovery of the B-trichloroborazine. Solvents include, toluene, benzene, xylene, chlorinated hydrocarbons, chlorinated aromatic compounds, or mixtures thereof. Toluene is a preferred solvent. The process provides a convenient synthesis of a material which often decomposes on standing. B-trichloroborazine is useful in a number of chemical reactions, and particularly in the formation of high temperature inorganic polymers and polymer precursors.
