Abstract: An information processing system includes a first apparatus, multiple second apparatuses, and a server. The first apparatus receives authentication information from a user and transmits the authentication information to the server. If the user has been authenticated in accordance with the authentication information, the server transmits, to the first apparatus, permission information that indicates two or more second apparatuses that the user is permitted to use from among the second apparatuses. The first apparatus stores the authentication information while transmitting the authentication information to the second apparatuses. If the authentication information indicates one of the second apparatuses, the one of the second apparatuses performs an operation related to use of the one of the second apparatuses.

Abstract: A server includes an email receiver, a memory controller, a first generator, and an email transmitter. The email receiver receives, from an external device, a first email including image data, a first email address, and a second email address. The memory controller stores identification information in association with the second email address. The first generator generates first print data representing a first print image. The first print image includes a first partial image represented by the image data and a second partial image representing an image corresponding to the identification information. The email transmitter transmits a second email including scanned data. The scanned data represents a scanned image. The second email further includes, as a destination address, the second email address associated with the identification information corresponding to the second partial image included in the scanned image.

Abstract: Described herein is a system for automatically capturing images. A device may execute an application on the device. In response to receiving a request for capturing an image of a document, the application may control the operation of the camera to contemporaneously and continuously capture image frames of an area within the field of view of a camera of the device. The field of view may include an object and in turn may be included in the captured image frames. The application may determine whether the aspect ratio and real-world size of the object in the captured image frames corresponds with a specified threshold size and aspect ratio which corresponds with a given document type. In response to determining the object corresponds to the given document type, the camera may automatically extract an image of the object.

Abstract: A print data generating device is configured to generate print data for creating a printed medium by printing a target image on a heat-sensitive medium with a printing device. The printing device includes a thermal head having a heating element. The heat-sensitive medium includes: a base material; and a heat-sensitive layer. The base material has a transparency. The heat-sensitive layer is provided over one surface of the base material and is configured to develop a first color when heated to a first temperature or higher. The printing device is configured to control the heating element according to the print data to heat the heat-sensitive medium. The print data generating device includes a controller. The controller is configured to perform: (a) determining a condition of a background area on which the heat-sensitive medium is to be superimposed; and (b) generating the print data in accordance with the condition determined in (a).

Abstract: A method for producing security elements in an image which are not visible to the human eye and which cannot be copied, in particular for checking the authenticity of images. The image is imaged by means of a halftone, the halftone consisting of individual image dots arranged adjacent to each other. This is characterized in that at least one field having a random geometric shape or freeform is defined in the image/the halftone. By means of manipulation of image dots in the field and/or by means of manipulation of the entire field, an encrypted information that cannot be copied is stored for comparison with at least one database and the serial number is displayed by means of contours formed in the halftone.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus is capable of communicating via a universal serial bus (USB) cable with a USB host device configured to transmit a first control transfer command at a start of communication.
