Abstract: A method for an automated production of printing substrates on at least one printing machine having at least one computer, includes feeding print jobs to the computer in a printer job queue. The computer analyzes the print jobs in the printer queue in terms of defined minimum numbers before the print jobs are processed and the print jobs are not processed on the printing machine until a threshold of a defined minimum number is attained.

Abstract: A printing device printing on a medium while being manually moved in relation to the medium is provided. The printing device includes: a job acquisition unit acquiring a print job designating a direction of movement of the printing device as viewed from the printing device; a print head printing on the medium, based on the print job; a detection unit detecting a direction of movement of the printing device as viewed from the printing device; a direction determination unit determining whether or not a detected direction, which is the direction of movement of the printing device detected by the detection device, is different from a designated direction, which is the direction of movement of the printing device designated by the print job; and a notification control unit performing error notification processing when the direction determination unit determines that the detected direction is different from the designated direction.

Abstract: An inspection system includes: an inspection part that compares a scanned image obtained by scanning a sheet on which an image is formed on the basis of a job with a reference image prepared in advance and thereby performs inspection of the scanned image; and a hardware processor that sets an inspection target page to be a target of inspection and a non-inspection target page to be excluded from inspection, for the job, wherein the hardware processor causes the inspection part to perform inspection for the inspection target page and not to perform inspection for the non-inspection target page on the basis of the setting of the hardware processor, and the hardware processor creates an inspection report including scanned images of all pages of the job including the non-inspection target page.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus and a method of controlling the information processing apparatus are provided. The information processing apparatus receives print data including quality requirement data, generates a print job including instruction information for instructing at least one of a quality check and an adjustment operation for satisfying a quality requirement requested in the quality requirement data, sets an execution order of generated print jobs in order of the highest quality requirement down, and controls, in accordance with the set execution order, an execution order of print jobs to be performed in a production system and of checking jobs for checking whether products of the print jobs satisfy a required quality.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus recognizes a character string included in image data generated by a reading unit, displays the recognized character string, receives a selection, performed by a user, of the displayed character string. The image processing apparatus thereafter determines, as a storage destination for the image data, a folder named with the character string that is based on the received selection and thereby stores the image data in the determined storage destination. Additionally, the image processing apparatus, in response to a reading instruction being issued once, reads images of a plurality of documents to generate image data, receives a plurality of times selection, performed by the user, of the displayed character string, and determines, as storage destinations, a plurality of folders named with the respective character strings that are based on the selection received a plurality of times.

The designating unit designates, in response to a user operation via a display, which of the feeding units is to be used for printing. The control unit executes, in response to a command to execute predetermined printing, a process based on a first feeding unit on which an operation has been last detected by the detecting unit and a second feeding unit designated by the designating unit. Based on that the first and second feeding units are different, the control unit displays, as the process, a predetermined screen on the display. Based on that the first and second feeding units are the same, the control unit executes, as the process, the predetermined printing on a second feeding unit fed sheet.

Abstract: A varied least recently used (VLRU) caching technique is used to enable print data to be available at a cache of a client for printing, even after an agent performs a deletion of a hash value for the print data at a cache of the agent. The deletion of the print data (cached at the cache of the client) is postponed at the client device via the use of a waiting list, so that the cached print data can be printed at a physical printer of the client, in response to receiving a delayed print job from the agent that specifies the hash value as a result of a deduplication process performed by the agent.

In a case where a certain image recording apparatus of the image recording apparatuses has a failure nozzle proportion of failure nozzles of all the nozzles of the recording head smaller than or equal to a threshold, image recording is performed on the certain image recording apparatus based on a recording instruction. The printing system may print indicia based on information relevant to a purchase transaction. The vending machine may transmit to a remote server data relating to a purchase transaction entered into the vending machine, the remote server retrieving data relevant to the purchase transaction and/or to the purchaser and transmitting to the vending machine the data relevant to the purchase transaction, such that the printing apparatus prints indicia on the container based on the received data relevant to the purchase transaction.

Abstract: A graphics adaptation method for printable ceramic supports. Images are printed on sample ceramic supports starting from an original image file. A sample printed image is acquired. Sample points representative of the sample image are selected. Original points present in the original image file are also selected. A point-based matching is sought between the sample points and the original points, on the basis of which the original image file is modified and an adapted image file is determined, thus adapting the graphics of the original image file to the graphics of the sample image. A graphics adaptation system based on the method is also described.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a controller including one or more processors and one or more memories. The controller receives attribute information of a printing apparatus from the printing apparatus, determines, based on the received attribute information, whether or not to generate a portrait image which format is a predetermined format, and rotates a landscape image in a predetermined rotational direction to generate the portrait image in a case it is determined the portrait image is to be generated. The controller also transmits the generated portrait image to the printing apparatus, and transmits information indicating that the portrait image has been generated from the landscape image.

The correlation determination unit determines the presence or absence of a correlation with respect to a first correlation that is a correlation between the used amount of the detected first-class component and an operating condition of the first-class device. When it is determined that there is no correlation for the first correlation, the update unit determines a first update value that is an update value of the threshold value based on the used amount of the first-class component in the first-class device.
