  • Patent number: 4225183
Abstract: An armrest assembly adapted for mounting on the back portion of a motorcycle seat includes armrests that are pivotably mounted for pivoting about horizontal and vertical axes. Pivoting about either axis is possible from the normal position, and pivoting can be effected merely by applying a moment to the armrest about the desired axis. As a result, rapid dismounting during an emergency is readily permitted.

  • Patent number: 4222538
Abstract: Pipe anchor for anchoring pipes to structural members and particularly for anchoring air lines and train pipes to structural members in the underframes of railway cars. Each anchor is a combination of three cooperating parts, namely, an adapter, a base, and a clamp. The adapter is the part that is attached to a structural member preferably by welding. The base is in the form of a saddle which seats on the pipe-engaging section of the adapter and has opposed sides which embrace a pipe on opposite sides and terminate in outturned, inclined, longitudinal flanges. The clamp engages the pipe diametrically opposite from the adapter and has inwardly opening inclined, longitudinal channels adapted to slide over the outturned flanges and draw the three-part assembly into equi-spaced four-point embracing support contact with the pipe.

  • Patent number: 4219235
Abstract: Insertable armrest frame and mounting structure is designed so that an upholstered, pivotable armrest can be easily attached to an upholstered seat back in such a manner that the mounting elements will be concealed. The mounting and support structure is quite light in weight but very strong due to use of an arm frame member which incorporates at least one strengthening rib portion. The arm frame pivots on one pivot pin anchored to the seat back frame and, in a preferred embodiment, includes a strengthening rib incorporating a cup-shaped portion having a curved flat rim which is slightly resiliently deformed by a flanged retaining nut on a stop pin which is also anchored in the seat back frame. The resilient deformation provides uniform tension which tends to hold the arm in any position to which it is rotated.

  • Patent number: 4213650
Abstract: A glider is disclosed of durable construction, especially adapted for rugged outdoor use, as for example, on patios, porches and lawns. The glider is of comfortable, portable light weight construction consisting of a minimum number of parts which can be packaged in a relatively small space or container for shipping purposes, and can be quickly and easily assembled by unskilled persons, without the aid of tools, other than conventional or easily available tools such as a screw driver or small wrench. The glider embodies, in its construction, tubular members of simple, easily manufactured design, and wooden members made of readily available sizes of lumber. A feature of the invention is the provision of novel or unique means for supporting the glider on a support frame and constraining the glider to movement in a direction generally parallel to the floor on which the support frame is mounted, as well as the provision of means for reducing wear and noise caused by movement of the glider.
