  • Patent number: 9400397
Abstract: An image shake correction device capable of reducing a sliding friction force occurring with movement of a movable member, thereby reducing load on a drive unit for driving the movable member and improving the positioning accuracy of the movable member. The movable member of the correction device is supported to be movable in a yaw direction and supported to be pivotable in a pitch direction, and a ball is held between the movable member and a guide groove formed in a stationary member and extending in the yaw direction. When the movable member moves in the yaw direction, the ball rolls along the guide groove. When the movable member pivots in the pitch direction, a contact point where the movable member contacts with the ball functions as a pivotal fulcrum for the movable member.

  • Patent number: 9291822
Abstract: The sizes of the respective reflecting units vary in the image take-out section along the Z direction in association with the state of the total reflection angle in the light guide section. Thus, it becomes possible to keep the sufficient effective light beam width of the image light input thereto in all of the reflecting units. Therefore, the deterioration in the image light caused by the reflection in the reflecting units can be avoided, and as a result, the degradation of the resolution of the image due to the virtual image light thus emitted can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 9128024
Abstract: A tray or holder for tissue specimens, especially of excised tissue, such as biopsied specimens, is used with a confocal imaging system. The tray may be disposable after imaging of the specimen carried therein or may archive the specimen. A window supports the specimen. Clamps mounted inside the tray restrain the tissue. A compliant bag is mounted outside the tray on one side of a window of the tray on which the specimen is disposed. During imaging the specimen is immersed in a liquid contained in the tray having an index of refraction which closely matches the index of refraction of the tissue. The bag also contains an index matching liquid preferably having the same index as the liquid in the tray. Selecting an immersion liquid, which equals the refractive index of the near surface tissues, minimizes wavefront distortion which may result from an effectively corrugated surface of the specimen.
