Abstract: A lid component for use with a glass jar and band of a mason jar, and a fermentation kit comprising these components. The lid component is made of an air-impermeable material and is dimensioned and configured to be releasably attachable to the jar by the band and to seal the wide mouth opening of the glass jar in an air-tight manner. The lid component further comprises a one-way valve adapted to allow gas produced by a fermentation process occurring inside the jar to escape from the jar while, at the same time, prevent oxygen-containing air from entering the jar, when the lid component is releasably attached to the jar.
Abstract: A closure device for containers suitable for holding liquids may include: a collar adapted to be applied to a neck of a liquid container, the collar having a lip; an elastically deformable membrane, configured to connect to the collar and to close the liquid container, wherein the membrane is configured to rest upon the lip and to define a seal along the lip, and wherein the seal is at least partially releasable by pressure exerted by a mouth of a user; and first and second flanges. The first flange is formed as a single piece with the membrane. The second flange is fixed to the collar to be locked between the first flange and the membrane. The first flange includes: a first portion projecting out of the membrane; and a second portion projecting out of the first portion. The second portion is oriented perpendicularly to the first portion.
Abstract: A tamper evident closure includes a first snap, a second snap, a tear strip connected to the second snap, a third snap connected to the tear strip, and a first projection extending around three sides of the first snap. In a closed position, a cavity of the second snap is configured to be placed over the first snap, and the third snap is configured to be placed in a cavity in the first snap. Further, in a closed position, the first projection is configured to surround three sides of the third snap that has been placed in a cavity in the first snap.
Abstract: A foot actuated animal waste receptacle enables sanitary and efficient disposal and storage of animal waste. A counterweighted outer housing forms a protective casing and an ornamental design. A weight integrates into the base end of the housing to prevent tipping over. A lid hingedly connects to a housing perimeter of the outer housing, pivotally moving between open and closed positions through a foot actuated hinge mechanism. The hinge mechanism comprises a series of connected rods that pivotally articulate to move the lid. The lid is securely maintained in a closed position through a compression load stored in a compression spring, and a hook and catch that detachably couple. A rim inside the housing perimeter holds a replaceable bag inside the outer housing to directly receive animal waste. A plurality of fastening tabs are disposed around the perimeter of the rim to detachably fasten replaceable bag to the rim.
Abstract: A dish covering assembly for protecting contents of a dish includes a shell. The shell has a top that is closed and a bottom that is open. The bottom is configured to insert a dish, such as a chafing pan, into the shell to couple the shell to the dish to cover the dish. A penetration is positioned through the top of the shell. A lid is hingedly coupled to the top of the shell and is selectively couplable to the shell to close the penetration. The lid and the shell are substantially transparent. The lid is positioned to pivot to an open configuration to allow access to the contents of the dish through the penetration. The lid also is positioned pivot to a closed configuration so that the shell and the lid are configured to protect the contents of the dish, such as from insects, germs, and temperature changes.
Abstract: A container with dividers is provided. The container includes a container body having a bottom with ribs extending upward, a first side wall, a second side wall, a first end wall and a second end wall. An upper portion of the side walls and/or end walls include matching slots. A divider is provided having upper tabs for securing the divider in a set of slots, and rib slots in a bottom portion for securing the divider to the ribs in the bottom of the container body.

Abstract: A package for the storage of food or other suitable products includes a tray and, optionally, a lidding film. The tray is thermoformed, molded, or otherwise shaped to provide a recessed portion and flange, the recessed portion defining a product-receiving cavity. The flange includes a frame portion surrounding the cavity and a margin portion disposed alongside the frame portion and, in some embodiments, extending substantially a full width of the tray. The optional lidding film attaches to both the frame and margin portions and typically seals the cavity. The margin portion and a side wall of the recessed portion may include locking features to allow the margin portion to snap close against the side wall. The package may then be made to stand on end with the margin portion acting as a base. The lidding film may include a peelable/sealable film to allow repeated access to the product while sealing the cavity between uses.
Abstract: The present invention is related to a corner panel of an LNG cargo that includes a main body, which constitutes a corner area of the cargo, and a stress diverging part, which reduces the convergence of stress of the main body by being integrated with an internal face of the main body and being formed with curvature. Therefore, by forming the corner area of the LNG cargo in a single body having a round-shaped curvature, convergence of stress caused by the deformation of the hull and thermal deformation can be prevented, and possibility of crack in a secondary barrier can be removed. By allowing the secondary barrier to be formed in a curved shape, the constructability of the secondary barrier can be greatly improved. Since no hardwood key or plywood is required, the thickness of a primary barrier can be reduced as the stress is decreased and the reliability of the secondary barrier is improved, and the weight can be greatly reduced over the conventional cargo corner area.

Abstract: The invention relates to child-resistant closure systems including a container, closure, and a resilient deformable liner positioned therebetween. The container and closure include mechanisms for engaging each other when the closure system adopts a closed configuration. In the closed configuration, the liner adopts a moderately non-flat profile and covers a mouth of the container. The closure can include a deflection rib and a highly curved top panel; when a pushing movement of sufficient force is applied to the closure, the closure system transitions from the locked configuration to an unlocked configuration. At this time, the deflection rib deforms a central portion of the liner, and the highly curved portion of the top panel engages the mouth of the container; this action can cause an outer portion of the liner to contact the highly curved portion and transition to a highly curved profile mimicking the profile of the top panel.
Abstract: A device for holding a container is disclosed. The device includes a base configured to support the container, a retaining mechanism configured to retain the container relative to the base, and an actuator mechanism coupled to the retaining mechanism. The retaining mechanism includes a longitudinal axis and an iris moveable between an insertion position and a retaining position. A central opening formed by the iris in the insertion position has an insertion diameter greater than a retaining diameter of the central opening formed by the iris in the retaining position. The iris includes a plurality of arms arranged in a first level and a second level. User rotation of the actuator mechanism in a first direction causes the arms of the iris to move to the retaining position, and user rotation of the actuator mechanism in a second direction opposite the first direction causes the arms of the iris to move away from the retaining position towards the insertion position.
Abstract: Various embodiments of containers are described having a body with a base and sidewall that defines a hollow interior portion of the body. A separable band can be affixed to the body to provide an attachment mechanism for a cap to be coupled with the body. An insert can be disposed between the body and cap to provide a liquid-tight and air-tight seal when the cap is coupled with the body. Preferably, the insert is dual layer with a layer of foam that compresses when the cap is coupled with the body.

Abstract: A lid for a container is described. The lid has a basin that is designed to enhance the user's olfactory experience when drinking a beverage from the container and lid. As the user tilts the container and lid to take a drink, the beverage pours through an opening on the basin valley and flows across a sipping surface area to the user's mouth, thus allowing the beverage to aerate, evaporate, and cool. The basin is sized and dimensioned to channel and concentrate the vapor rising from the beverage towards the user's nose as the user sips the beverage. The basin and the opening are sized and dimensioned to provide a comfortable and secure feeling when drinking hot beverages. In this manner, the lid enhances the drinker's olfactory experience and provides better controllability of the flow of a hot beverage to prevent burn injuries.
Abstract: An ammunition tray is provided for containing a plurality of bullet cartridges within an ammunition box container having a stowage volume. The tray includes a substantially rectangular template having a horizontal surface bounded by first and second opposing longitudinal edges and opposing lateral edges joined at four corners. Each longitudinal edge includes a first tab bent substantially perpendicular to the surface to form a rib. Each lateral edge includes a second tab bent substantially perpendicular to the surface to form a wall. The surface includes a first row of internal cutouts that point towards the first longitudinal edge as a proximal orientation. The surface further includes a second row of internal cutouts that point towards the second longitudinal edge as a distal orientation. The template has longitudinal and lateral edges bent to form the respective ribs and walls fits within the stowage volume as a vertical stack of plural templates.
