  • Patent number: 7636510
Abstract: In a private video recorder for recording contents of TV program delivered from TV stations, data of the contents of TV program (contents data) are memorized into segments in a contents data memory area, and the contents data are controlled as one video picture file by appointing the segments memorizing the contents data in segment appointing information of the video picture file. When the contents recorded in the private video recorder is edited, only the appointment of the segments in the segment appointing information is rewritten without cutting, copying or inserting the contents data.

  • Patent number: 7620294
Abstract: Replaying a compressed digital video stream in fast-forward and reverse modes at varied playback rates. An index of intercoded frames, those frames not dependant on other frames for generation, is stored. The index includes the size of interceded frames and their storage location. When a specified playback rate is requested, the interceded frames are retrieved using the index. The intercoded frames then have one or more intracoded frames, frames that reference other frames for generation, placed between them to generate a frame sequence. The intracoded frames are “blank,” meaning they contain only information from their associated intercoded frame. By inserting “blank” frames specified playback rates and bit rates are generated. The index of interceded frames may also be accessed to generate playback in reverse mode, which conserves memory resources of associated systems by generating the reverse playback stream in an iterative manner.

  • Patent number: 7603024
Abstract: An audio/video data storing and searching apparatus is provided, which stores audio/video data including additional information of a user desired program, to thereby perform an easy searching. For this purpose, the present invention decodes a transport stream (TS) packet and reads additional information with respect to a user desired audio/video packet from program specific information (PSI), and inserts and stores the read result in a particular region of the audio/video packet and parses the additional information to perform a searching. Thus, the audio/video data storing apparatus extracts additional information, inserts the extracted additional information into a particular region, and stores resultant audio/video data. As a result, the audio/video data storing apparatus can reduce a capacity of a storage medium which is used for storing user desired audio/video data.

  • Patent number: 7424207
Abstract: A digital camera includes a signal processing circuit. The signal processing circuit makes signal processing on the camera data read from a camera data area of an SDRAM to produce YUV data for record. A thin-out circuit makes a thin-out processing on the recording YUV data to produce YUV data for display. The display YUV data and the recording YUV data thus produced are written respectively to a display data area and a recording data area of the SDRAM and thereafter processed for display on a display and record to a flash memory. The access speed to SDRAM is 48 MHz and the processing speed of the signal processing circuit and thin-out circuit is 12 MHz. Consequently, the YUV data for display and YUV data for record is written concurrently with reading out of the camera data.

  • Patent number: 7394966
Abstract: An image capture apparatus includes an image capture unit, a recording unit, a wireless communication unit and a control unit. The recording unit records digital image captured by the image capture unit on a recording medium. The wireless communication unit transmits the digital image recorded on the recording medium to an external recording apparatus. The control unit determines, using additional information corresponding to the digital image recorded on the recording medium, whether or not the digital image recorded on the recording medium is already transmitted to the external recording apparatus. The additional information is received from the external recording apparatus. The control unit controls the wireless communication unit to transmit the digital image recorded on the recording medium to the external recording apparatus if the control unit determines that the digital image recorded on the recording medium is not already transmitted to the external recording apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7362949
Abstract: Described is an intelligent fast-forward video system that automatically controls a relative play speed of the video based on a complexity of the content reflecting the real story of a video, thereby enabling to carry out a fast-forward viewing for summarizing an entire story of a digital video or moving fast to a major concerning part. The present invention obtains the complexity of the content using information of motion vector, shot, face, text, and audio for an entire video and adaptively controls the play speed for each of the intervals on a fast-forward viewing of the corresponding video on the basis of the obtained complexity of the content. And, in more detail, the present invention plays a complicated story interval relatively slow and a simple and tedious part relatively fast, thereby enabling to provide a user with a summarized story of the corresponding video without viewing the entire video as well as a fast search for a part wanted by the user.

  • Patent number: 7286748
Abstract: A computing system connected to storage medium and one or more rendering devices receives streamed multimedia data. The multimedia data is encoded in a format, such as an Advanced Streaming Format, that is conducive to storing the multimedia data in files having appended indexes. Upon receiving the multimedia data, the multimedia data is written to file structures within the storage medium, while at the same time maintaining a real-time index for each file in a shared memory. After a file is complete, the real-time index is appended to the completed file and deleted from the shared memory. When a request for data is received that pertains to a file that does not have an appended index, the computing system obtains any necessary file index information from the real-time index in the shared memory, thereby enabling the requested data to be accessed.

  • Patent number: 7251414
Abstract: The invention relates to a data structure and operation method for A/V (audio/video) disks. The specification disclosures a type of navigation files with a new structure. This navigation file utilizes a plurality of tables with different data types to record data relevant to another A/V file in the disk. To distinguish different data types of tables, each table has a table head and a table serial number. There is also an erase/modify information table in each of the data types to record editing information that has been done (such as editing information of erase/modify). Any newly created or edited table is written to a disk by appending. When first using an A/V player to play A/V data, all the tables are combined into a navigation file through the steps of separating tables, modifying tables and rearranging table. Thus, newly created or edited A/V data in an A/V disk can be played without the need to modify the original navigation file in the disk.

  • Patent number: 7242852
Abstract: An analog image signal from an input terminal 101 is converted in an ADC 102 to digital data, then stored in a frame memory 103, then subjected to compression processing in a compression processing module 104, and then recorded in a recorder 105. The compressed data recorded in the recorder 105 is read out, then subjected to decompression processing in a decompression processing module 106, and then stored in a frame memory 107. The operation of the compression processing module 104 is controlled by a frame rate controller 110. Thus, the problem of frame data drop-out or reproducing processing delay occurrence when it becomes unable to obtain full frame real time frame capturing, real time compression and real time decompression due to CPU performance insufficiency is solved.
