  • Patent number: 11586283
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a multi-sensor don/doff detection system for an artificial reality device headset. The multi-sensor don/doff detection system can use a combination of a proximity sensor, an inertial measurement unit (IMU), and an eye tracking/face tracking (ET/FT) unit to make these determinations. However, when both the ET/FT system and proximity sensor system are active, they can have system coexistence issues. Thus, only one of these systems can be used simultaneously. The multi-sensor don/doff detection system can more accurately identify don events by using input from the proximity sensor and the IMU. The multi-sensor don/doff detection system can also more accurately identify doff events by using input from the IMU and either A) the proximity sensor when the ET/FT system is disabled or B) the ET/FT system when the ET/FT system is enabled.

  • Patent number: 11573660
Abstract: A system includes a sensor controller, and a pen configured to periodically transmit a pen-pressure value of N bits to the sensor controller, in which the sensor controller and the pen perform pairing by bidirectionally communicating with each other. After processing for the pairing is completed, the pen periodically transmits the pen-pressure value, and, during a period before the processing for the pairing is completed, the pen transmits, instead of the pen-pressure value, a shortened pen-pressure value of high-order M bit(s) that are shorter than the N bits for the pen-pressure value.

  • Patent number: 11567587
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods for implementing a mixed reality system with less power. In some examples, a passive state of the mixed reality system can have a GPU render predictable content that does not need to be processed by a CPU. In such examples, the predictable content can be identified and rendered by the GPU while the CPU is in a low-power mode. Accordingly, embodiments of the present disclosure provide benefits not available with conventional techniques because a CPU may consume more power than a corresponding GPU. In some examples, the passive state can take advantage of the fact that predictable content can be identified and rendered without the use of the CPU. In such examples, the passive state can render predictable content that does not need to be processed by the CPU.

Abstract: A touch panel equipment for air conditioning has a plurality of electrodes arranged in two-dimensional matrix, a touch sensing IC for scanning capacitance of the electrodes, and a touch panel controller for deciding a touch position from the capacitance sensed by said touch sensing IC. The touch panel controller resets the touch sensing IC when the capacitance of the electrodes located in a check area is not changed during predetermined threshold timings, and does not reset the touch sensing IC when the capacitance of the electrodes located in the check area is changed within the threshold timings. As the touch panel controller resets the touch sensing IC due to the change of the capacitance value of the electrodes located in the check area, the resetting operation is operated automatically so that the touch panel equipment could avoid the user's external work.

Abstract: An information handling system includes a touch sensitive area, which in turn includes an array of pressure sensors and a haptics controller. The array of pressure sensors includes a first pressure sensor. When activated, the first pressure sensor provides an XY location based on a location of the first pressure sensor in the array of pressure sensors. The haptics controller receives an XY location from the first pressure sensor, and a location of a pen device from a pen digitizer circuit. The haptics controller calculates whether the XY location and the location of the pen device are substantially the same location. In response to the XY location and the location of the pen device being substantially the same location, the haptics controller disables haptic feedback within the touch sensitive area.
