  • Patent number: 9993675
Abstract: A double interlock pre-action sprinkler head has a pipe having an inlet and outlet to permit flow of fire suppressant fluid through the pipe. A dedicated electrically actuatable valve is connected to the pipe to prevent fire suppressant fluid in sprinkler system piping from entering the pipe. The electrically actuatable valve opens in response to a signal from a fire detector to permit fire suppressant fluid to flow into the pipe. A heat-sensitive valve is connected to the pipe and opens to permit fire suppressant fluid to exit the pipe when ambient temperature at the heat-sensitive valve is at or above a predefined temperature. The sprinkler head provides a dry pipe solution for a single room while being fully integratable into any building-wide sprinkler system, including wet pipe systems.
