  • Patent number: 5193469
Abstract: A variable rate "on the go" fertilizer application controller for use with an agricultural earth working implement comprising a controlled metering device mounted on the implement. The control includes a reversible motor that operates a valve in the meter and at the same time a power take-off from the valve actuator drive operates a calibrated dial indicator to be interpreted by an operator so that action may be taken by a remote control device to make adjustments to compensate for variable soil conditions to get optimum crop production.

  • Patent number: 5191941
Abstract: In a plow, particularly a reversible plow, one has aimed at a plow enabling plowing in hard soil affording very heavy resistance against the plow bodies (2), using comparatively small material dimensions and corresponding light weight of the plow. For this purpose, the plow beam (3), at the front end thereof, is pivotally mounted on the plow frame (1) and, somewhat spaced behind the pivot (4), a rotation restricting shear pin (5) is secured to the plow frame (1). The plow beam (3) is coupled to a lever (6) which, spaced from its connection point (7) to the plow beam (3), possibly via a longitudinally adjustable stop member (10), is resting supportingly on an adjacent plow beam portion. The lever (6) is, spaced from its said connection point (7) as well as from said supportingly resting portion/stop member (10), linked to an elastic compliant, resilient damper (11). Additionally, said damper (11) is connected to the plow frame (1) or to an element connected thereto.

  • Patent number: 5190112
Abstract: A rotary hoe extension and kit for extending the effective length of one set of arms of a rotary hoe to increase the separation of the axes of rotation of adjacent rows of hoe wheels to a distance greater than the diameter of the hoe wheel while maintaining lateral wheel spacing. The extension includes a body member, having an upper end or first portion including a U-shaped alignment member which surrounds the existing rotary hoe arm on three sides to provide a rigid unit and a lower end or second portion having an aperture therethrough for attachment of a hoe wheel thereto. The lower end of the arm and lower end of the extension are in alignment with each other thereby allowing for maintenance of the lateral wheel spacing. A connector arrangement is provided to secure the extension to the support arm.

  • Patent number: 5186261
Abstract: A plow assembly adapted for connection to a tractor and including a plurality of plow units commonly connected to a beam which is inclined relative to the direction of travel of the plow assembly. A ground engaging steering wheel supporting a rear end of the beam. A steering system is provided for holding the steering wheel generally parallel to rear wheels on the tractor and for turning the steering wheel through an angle and opposite to a steering angle of the tractor to bring the plow assembly behind the tractor during turns. The steering system includes a linkage mechanism for proportionately reducing the turning angle of the steering wheel relative to the steering angle of the tractor thereby allowing tractor turns to exceed 35.degree. to either side of the direction of travel of the plow assembly. The plow assembly further includes a mechanism for quickly and easily changing the spacing between adjacent plow units as the plow assembly is pulled through the field and with minimal operator involvement.

  • Patent number: 5184596
Abstract: This invention provides a safety mechanism as an improvement to a bowstring release device and operative to prevent the accidental discharge of an arrow drawn in the bow. The safety mechanism disclosed comprises a slidable cam which is adapted to actuate a lock pin into a position to block the movement of a trigger member of the bowstring release device. When the safety mechanism is moved in the opposite direction, the lock pin is allowed to move away from the position blocking trigger movement under pressure of a biasing spring, thus freeing the trigger to operate.

  • Patent number: 5181573
Abstract: A drawbar packer having an adjustable bias assembly which transfers implement weight between the wheels and the coil packers. Tension on extension springs is adjustable so that sufficient weight is transferred from the wheels to the coil packers such that the wheels pack soil less than the coil packers. In this way, the implement packs soil uniformly in preparation of the seed bed.

  • Patent number: 5181574
Abstract: A bulldozer is provided with a ground scraping blade. The blade is supported to the chassis of the vehicle by a pivoted frame. The frame can be power displaced relative to the supporting chassis by a first pair of inclined rams, providing translational motion of the blade. A ram power displaces the blade in rotation relative to the pivoted frame. Another ram, extending vertically, interconnect the vertically spaced rear ends of a pair of helicoidal, diverging, sinusoidal arms forming part of the pivot frame with the front ends thereof anchored to the blade in horizontally spaced fashion. Extension of the latter ram induces relative motion of the pair of helicoidal arms so that one lateral side end of the blade will lift exclusively of the opposite lateral side end thereof.
