  • Patent number: 10173305
Abstract: A screw fastening method includes reversely rotating a shaft part of a fastening tool in a direction of loosening one of an external thread and an internal thread, which is engaged with the shaft part, while one of the external thread in a non-screwed state and the internal thread in a non-screwed state, which is engaged with the shaft part, is pressed against the other thread, detecting collisions between thread ridges of the external thread and the internal thread using a sensor while the shaft part remains rotated reversely, determining whether or not a time interval between collisions detected by the sensor matches a theoretical cycle of collisions calculated from rotation speed of the shaft part, and fastening the external thread and the internal thread to each other by normally rotating the shaft part when it is determined that the time interval matches the theoretical cycle.

  • Patent number: 10174910
Abstract: A method includes pressing a macromolecular material to form a successive reflective layer, heating the reflective layer to a preset temperature value, stirring luminous powder and fluorescent powder at a high speed so that the luminous powder and the fluorescent powder are mixed evenly to form a luminous blank, evenly painting the luminous blank on the reflective layer, drying the luminous blank at a predetermined temperature value to form a luminous layer, and cooling the reflective layer and the luminous layer to produce a substrate which has reflective and self-luminous features. Thus, the luminous layer of the substrate emits light in a dark environment by reflection of the reflective layer of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 10145363
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for performing up-tower maintenance on a gearbox bearing of a wind turbine. In particular, a method for performing up-tower maintenance on a gearbox of a wind turbine is disclosed. The gearbox has at least one bearing with an outer race and an inner race that rotates with respect to the outer race. The method includes forming a through-hole in a front cover of the gearbox, the front cover being stationary with respect to an axis of rotation of the bearing. The method also includes forming a recess in the outer race of the bearing. Further, the method includes inserting a connecting member through the through-hole and the recess so as to prevent movement of the outer race of the bearing with respect to a torque arm of the gearbox.

  • Patent number: 10139808
Abstract: A method and a system are provided for predicting and creating a shim for use in a joint where two parts, such as a skin and a substructure, are assembled together. Digital models for the skin and the substructure may be used as nominal maps of the outlines and profiles of the parts. The skin may be inspected, e.g., by nondestructive means, such as ultrasound, to determine as-built thickness profile for comparison to the skin's digital model of the thickness profile. Mating areas of the skin and substructure may be determined from their digital models of their outlines. Deviations in the mating areas of the as-built thickness of the skin from the digital model of the skin may be used to generate a digital model of a shim. The shim may be constructed from its digital model by additive manufacturing techniques that may involving machining or 3D printing.

  • Patent number: 10112234
Abstract: A self-aligning swaging punch is provided for adjoining together a pin and a workpiece having a pinhole. The swaging punch comprises a shaft and a tip having an open-ended cavity. The shaft transfers an axial force from a press or hammer to the tip. The tip transfers the axial force from the shaft to a top surface of the workpiece near the pinhole. The tip may be spherical in shape for evenly deforming the workpiece near the upper edge of the pinhole. The open-ended cavity receives the pin therein and allows the pin to extend at least partially into the open-ended cavity while the tip contacts the workpiece. The open-ended cavity also ensures that the swaging punch is aligned with the pinhole and perpendicular to the surface of the workpiece when the pin is inserted into the pinhole such that the workpiece evenly deforms and presses against the pin.

  • Patent number: 10099223
Abstract: A method and apparatus for a hammer mill's worn discs. The disc can be refurbished by removing a peripheral portion of the disc and placing a ring on the peripheral rim left on the disc. The ring preferably has a tapered, radially inwardly facing surface that abuts the peripheral rim of the disc to form annular gaps on both sides of the disc/ring junction. Molten metal, such as during a welding process, is placed in the annular gaps to form annular beads that mount the ring to the disc effectively as if the ring, beads and disc were one integral piece. The disc/ring combination is preferably heat-treated to metallurgically improve the disc in order to prepare the disc's peripheral edge, which is made up of the ring, for impacts during use.
