  • Patent number: 9669569
Abstract: The invention relates mold, particularly a mold for producing foam articles. In a preferred embodiment, the mold comprises a lid and a bowl releasingly engageable to define a mold cavity, the lid comprising: (i) a vent having a passageway for gas to escape from the mold cavity, and (ii) a plurality of grooves connected to the vent. The use of a plurality of grooves/slots in the mold cavity surface effectively acts as a siphon to draw gas away from the composition to be molded. The plurality of grooves/slots is connected to one or more vents which then allows for escape of the gas from the mold cavity to the exterior of the mold.

  • Patent number: 9662815
Abstract: A vertical injection molding machine is provided with a base, a lower mold mounting unit, an injection device, a pressing mold unit, and an upper mold mounting unit. Since the pressing mold unit and the injection device are all disposed on the upper seat of the base, and therefore are located above the lower seat, the lower mold mounting unit, the upper mold and the lower mold. With this design, the height to the ground from the lower seat can be substantially reduced. Namely, the heights of the lower seat, the lower mold mounting unit and the upper and lower molds with respect to the user are reduced to an ergonomic height, which makes operation of the injection molding easier and convenient, while reducing danger and enhancing work safety.

  • Patent number: 9656416
Abstract: An injection molding system is configured to produce a multi-color molded article by simultaneously or sequentially injection-molding resins of a plurality of types by means of a plurality of injection molding machines. An insert mold is mounted in a mold of a first injection molding machine and a primary molded article is molded by this injection molding machine. Thereafter, a robot arm takes out the insert mold, along with the primary molded article, from the mold of the injection molding machine and attaches it to a mold of a second injection molding machine. A two-color molded article is injection-molded by the second injection molding machine and removed as a product.

  • Patent number: 9643351
Abstract: A method and a machine account for changes in material properties of molten plastic material during an injection run. A change in a control signal is calculated by a controller during the injection molding run. If the change in the control signal indicates a change in material flowability, the controller alters a target injection pressure to ensure that molten plastic material completely fills and packs a mold cavity to prevent part flaws such as short shots or flashing.

  • Patent number: 9623597
Abstract: A hot-runner mold gate structure includes a body having a path, and a room is defined in one end of the path. A guide member is inserted in a bushing, and both of which are located in the room. A locking member is connected to the room and has a reception area in one end of the locking member. The guide member has an axial guide slot and a guide hole. The guide member has a tip which protrudes through an outlet in the distal end of the bushing. Melted PET passes through the guide hole, the guide slot and the gap between the tip and the inside of the outlet to enter into the mold set. The contact area between the locking member and the bushing is minimized to maintain a certain temperature at the outlet of the bushing to avoid the PET from being cooled.
