  • Patent number: 10742964
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for using a display in a manner which results in a user perceiving a higher resolution than would be perceived if a user viewed the display from a head on position are described. In some embodiments one or more displays are mounted at an angle, e.g., sometimes in range a range from an angle above 0 degrees to 45 relative to a user's face and thus eyes. The user sees more pixels, e.g., dots corresponding to light emitting elements, per square inch of eye area than the user would see if the user were viewing the display head on due to the angle at which the display or displays are mounted. The methods and display mounting arrangement are well suited for use in head mounted displays, e.g., Virtual Reality (VR) displays for stereoscopic viewing (e.g., 3D) and/or non-stereoscopic viewing of displayed images.

  • Patent number: 10714008
Abstract: A pixel circuit for a display device employs a two-capacitor configuration, in which during the emission phase, the first and second plates of the capacitors respectively are electrically connected to each other to provide more stability to the gate voltage of the drive transistor. The pixel circuit also is operable in a combined threshold compensation and data programming phase to compensate for variations in the characteristics of the drive transistor and the light-emitting device. During a portion of the combined threshold compensation and data programming phase the drive transistor becomes diode-connected such that the gate and the second terminal of the drive transistor are electrically connected, wherein a threshold voltage of the drive transistor is compensated while the drive transistor is diode-connected.

  • Patent number: 10706808
Abstract: Provided is a video signal line driver circuit capable of displaying a video with a high viewing quality even when gradation voltages of the same value are simultaneously selected as analog video signals. A voltage ladder 87 of a source driver 50 has formed therein gradation voltage supplement lines 91 extending to the outside of the source driver 50 from output terminals for outputting generated gradation voltages. The gradation voltage supplement lines 91 are grounded outside the source driver 50 via voltage supplement capacitors 90. Accordingly, even when gradation voltages of the same value are simultaneously selected as analog video signals, the voltage supplement capacitors 90 provide necessary current supplement to the voltage ladder 87, thereby inhibiting potential drop across the output terminals for outputting gradation voltages.

  • Patent number: 10656722
Abstract: This document describes a system for animating a two-dimensional object in real-time with gestural data collected by a gestural sensor of the system. A gestural sensor collects gestural data. An image extraction engine extracts image data that renders a two-dimensional object on a display device of the system. An overlay engine generates a mesh overlay for the two-dimensional object. Based on a detected gesture represented in the gestural data collected, an animation engine modifies portions of the two-dimensional object from a first image frame to a second image frame based on the collected gestural data. An image frame generator generates the first and second image frames that animate the two-dimensional object in accordance with the gestural data collected.
