  • Patent number: 5129715
Abstract: A portable desk with a work surface panel supported between two support compartments which are hinged. Each support compartment not only is foldable from a right angle position of support to a parallel storage folded inward and beneath the work surface panel, but also is foldable from the right angle support position outward and parallel to the work surface panel. An interposed hingeable piece allows the combined support compartments and panel to bifold outward and bridge the space between two surfaces such as the arms of an armchair or bedrails.

  • Patent number: 5127716
Abstract: A compact disc player arrangement in which compact discs are stored in a magazine housing. One above another in a stack. The magazine housing may be removed for the purpose of loading with compact discs, and this magazine housing is replaceable in the compact disc player after having been loaded. A slidable drawer that is movable into and out of the housing forms a single component or unit with the housing. A selected compact disc that is different from the disc stored in the magazine housing, may be held in the slidable drawer and played in any selected sequence, independent of the discs stored in the magazine housing. The arrangement allows compact disc players to be extended from the use of only one-disc-at-a-time devices.

  • Patent number: 5127721
Abstract: A retractable storage system for a confined space between two stationary objects comprises a frame (22) made of a metal wire integrally with storage space (46) in the form of baskets. The frame (22) is slidingly installed and guided in two guides (24 and 26). Each guide consists of a stationary member (28) which is rigidly attached to one of the stationary objects, and a moveable member (32) telescopically sliding in the corresponding stationary member. The baskets (46) are shorter than the depth of the confined spaces. From the outer side the frame is closed by a cover (58) which is adjustably attached to the frame (22). The vertical stands (48) of the wire-made frame have upper ends (56) projecting through holes (42) of the upper moveable member (32a), while their lower ends (52) are bent perpendicularly to the plane of the frame (22) to engage the frame in the lower moveable member (28b).

  • Patent number: 5127718
Abstract: A sealed display and storage case is disclosed for viewing and storing a museum piece or the like in a protected and controlled environment. The display case includes a base having apertures therethrough, a top cover, and a bottom cover. A first seal mechanism attaches the top cover to the base, providing an upper microclimate chamber, and a second seal mechanism attaches the bottom cover to the base, providing a lower microclimate chamber. The apertures within the base limit air flow exchange between the upper and lower microclimate chambers. A rotatable disc mechanism is used to close the apertures when either cover is removed for servicing, thereby eliminating outside air flow into the unopened microclimate chamber. The humidity buffer is contained within an open vessel having an externally adjustable lid, thereby providing a way to adjust the microclimates without any outside air flow into the chambers.

  • Patent number: 5123702
Abstract: A high density stacking chair having a unique construction permits interaction between a frame member and a chair shell. The frame member is formed of a unitary construction, and the chair shell is formed of a singled piece of molded plastic material. The chair shell includes a seat portion and a back portion joined integrally to the seat portion and extends upwardly therefrom. Fastening members are provided for securing the support straps joined to the frame member to the seat portion of the chair shell. Locking devices are provided for securing the support straps to the back portion of the chair shell. The locking devices define pivot points about which the back portion rotate outwardly when the seat portion of the chair shell is deflected forwardly and the back portion of the chair shell is deflected rearwardly so as to force outwardly under stress the frame member.

  • Patent number: 5121975
Abstract: A control circuit for continually testing a photoelectric detector. The detector includes a light source, and a photoelectric receiver having a predetermined drop-out time, attached to a movable storage carriage, spaced apart and substantially sightaligned. The carriage has a reversible electric motor which is controlled by the control circuit, including at least two relays, the contacts of which are connected in series so that the contacts of both must be closed in order for the motor to be energized. The relay drop-out time is substantially longer than the receiver drop-out time. In the circuit, an inverter is connected between the second coil and the light source. This inverter inverts signals received from the second coil and passes them to the light source so that receipt of a signal at the receiver causes the light source to turn off, in turn causing a loss of signal at the receiver, resulting in the light source turning on.
