  • Patent number: 7193528
Abstract: Traffic messages are received together with the respective position of the point relating to the message. Only those traffic messages that relate to a selected area together with the respective position of a point related to the traffic message are stored. The positions of the traffic messages are compared with a respective position of the motor vehicle in order to determine distances between the respective positions in the traffic messages and the position of the motor vehicle. The traffic messages are sorted in accordance with distances determined and the traffic messages starting with the smallest distance are outputted. Whether the traffic message is significant for a current direction of travel or for an opposite direction of travel is detected, and only traffic messages that are relevant to the current direction of travel are outputted.

  • Patent number: 7173530
Abstract: A nested container establishes a relative hierarchy of associated containers as logistical units. The relative hierarchy comprises lower-layer containers and upper-layer containers relative to the nested container. To do so, the nested container sends interrogation signals to neighboring containers in order to retrieve identification information and layer information. Also, the nested container sends its own information identification information and layer information responsive to received interrogation signals. The nested container outputs the relative hierarchy to, for example, a site server or agent using a hand-held device. The identification module comprises, for example, an RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) device.

  • Patent number: 7145468
Abstract: A probe 10 has internal circuitry capable of operating in a plurality of different modes, for example a variety of filter modes and turn off modes. A switch on the probe sends an input to a controller which is arranged to preset the mode in response to operation of the switch. The switch may be a push button 32 which is operated externally of the probe 10 by means of an actuator in the form of a plunger 34. The probe has a workpiece-contacting stylus 11 mounted on a seat from which it is deflectable. The stylus and the seat may comprise the switch. An indicator, eg an LED 44, indicates the mode in response to an output from the controller. • Patent number: 7142100
Abstract: A wheel position indication system for a vehicle comprising a steerable wheel, a wheel position indicator and a controller. The wheel position indicator has an on state and an off state. The wheel position indicator provides a visual indication of the position of the steerable wheel when the wheel position indicator is in the on state. The wheel position indicator does not provide a visual indication of the position of the steerable wheel when the wheel position indicator is in the off state. The controller selectively alters the wheel position indicator between the on state and the off state. The controller places the wheel position indicator into the on state when the vehicle is in a predetermined driving condition and places the wheel position indicator into the off state when the vehicle is not in the predetermined driving condition.
