    Abstract: A planar magnetic driver including a radiating surface having a trace-free central region is described. The driver has a magnet defining an acoustic opening on a central axis. A diaphragm of the planar magnetic driver is held by mounts having a mounting profile around the central axis, and the diaphragm includes a radiating surface facing the acoustic opening. An innermost conductive trace on the diaphragm extends around a central region of the radiating surface within a magnetic flux of the magnet such that no conductive traces are on the central region. A radial distance between the innermost conductive trace and the mounting profile is less than another radial distance between the innermost conductive trace and the central axis. Accordingly, an excursion range of the diaphragm along the central axis is greater than a gap distance between the conductive trace and the magnet. Other aspects are also described and claimed.

The AMM amplifier device employs at least one deep sub-wavelength spiral design with high refraction index, based on an exponential spiral shape. The AMM spiral amplifier is used to focus on low frequency sound amplification and to cover broadband frequency range. Sound emanating from a speaker travels into a spiral channel until reaching the apex of the spiral. When twin spirals are used, the sound then enters a second spiral for radiating into open air.

An illustrative embodiment of a low-latency audio streaming method includes: (a) sending intermittent packets of digital audio data as a wireless signal; and (b) for each intermittent packet: (A) listening for a responsive packet; and (B) sending the digital audio data in a retransmitted packet only if no responsive packet is detected. Any retransmitted packet that is sent follows the corresponding intermittent packet with a delay no greater than a length of two interframe spacing (IFS) intervals separated by a responsive packet. An illustrative embodiment of a low-latency audio streaming device includes a transmit chain and a receive chain. The transmit chain periodically transmits intermittent packets of digital audio data as a wireless signal.
