  • Patent number: 5011412
Abstract: An educational keyboard with removable keys, wherein musical tone generation for a given key is in response to correct placement of the key in its corresponding key slot, is disclosed. Incorrect placement results in a sour tone. Lights are also used to indicate correct and incorrect placement of keys. A computer interface for the keyboard allows a student to use pre-programmed interactive lessons tailored to the student's age and ability. Methods of teaching music theory and harmony with the keyboard utilize the student's left brain and right brain capabilities.

  • Patent number: 5011140
Abstract: A multi-purpose exercise apparatus for safely performing weight lifting exercises (such as free weights) that eliminates the need for an assistant comprising a bench that is supported on the floor at both ends, one end of which is pivotally anchored to an elongated U-shaped weight supporting frame which encompasses and surrounds the supported bench. The U-shaped frame further includes a vertical support that is attached to a positionable weight lifting handle bar. Free weights are mounted on each side of the movable end of the U-shaped frame. Because of the length of the longitudinal side members of the U-shaped frame extending from one end of the exercise bench to the opposite end, the path of the handle bars is essentially linear. The apparatus provides for maximum efficiency and safety in bench pressing, squatting and other free weight exercises.

  • Patent number: 4988091
Abstract: An elbow and forearm rehabilitation device to be grasped by a hand of a user includes a frame having first and second side members. Each side member includes first and second ends. A hand grip is interconnected to the first ends of the side members for receiving the hand of the user between the first and second side members. The first and second side members include a bend disposed between the first and second ends, such that the first and second side members disposed between the bend and the second ends lie in a plane substantially parallel to the plane of the user's arm when the back of the hand is rotated, upon full rotation of the wrist, toward the user's elbow.
