  • Patent number: 11511073
Abstract: One embodiment is a medical device with a flexibly deformable external hose. The external hose includes multiple openings, at least one of them arranged in a first end of the external hose. It includes a flexible internal hose, which is arranged on the inside of the external hose. The internal hose, in an expanded state, has an external diameter that is at least equal to the internal diameter of the external hose, closing the openings of the external hose. The external diameter of the internal hose can be transitioned from the expanded state into a radially contracted state, exposing the openings. A connection firmly connects the external hose and the internal hose on the first end of the external hose, and closes them in fluid-tight manner. A connector supplies the fluid into the intervening space between the external and the internal hose.

  • Patent number: 11504519
Abstract: The present teachings may generally include a sealing device disposed within a connector (e.g., a patient connector) at an end of catheter tubing, where the sealing device is structurally configured to form a releasable seal for the catheter tubing. That is, when unengaged with a contact portion of another connector or device, the sealing device may be disposed in a first position establishing the seal. Specifically, a channel disposed through a body of the sealing device may be obstructed when in the first position. However, through predetermined engagement with the contact portion of another connector or device, the sealing device may be moved (e.g., rotated) to a second position to establish a fluid pathway through the channel. And, when the predetermined engagement is removed, the sealing device may be structurally configured to automatically move back into the first position to reestablish the seal for the catheter tubing.

  • Patent number: 11497861
Abstract: An injection device includes a cylinder having a cavity for receiving a liquid. A passage is connected to the cavity for inflow and/or outflow of the liquid. The passage can be connected to an injection component. A shut-off valve has a valve body and a flexible sealing ring with an opening. The valve body, proceeding from a release position in which the passage is freed, is at least partially movable through the opening of the sealing ring to a blocking position in which the valve body engages behind the opening so that movement of the valve body to the release position is blocked and the passage is sealed off against proximally directed flow. An adapter body is connected to the cylinder. The shut-off valve is arranged at a proximal end of the adapter body and at a distal end of the cylinder. The device can be used in a syringe.

  • Patent number: 11446450
Abstract: An improved apparatus for use with medication in a fluid form, which is particularly beneficial for medications having a relatively high viscosity. A disclosed syringe adapter has an opening that is relatively large, as compared to a conventional needle, and thus affixing the disclosed syringe adapter to a syringe improves syringeability of higher-viscosity medications. Some embodiments feature a lateral extension that prevents inserting the syringe adapter too far into a medicine bottle, and some embodiments feature a component that assists in firmly grasping. When the disclosed syringe adapter is affixed to a pistol-grip syringe or tab-handled syringe, the medication withdrawn into the pistol-grip syringe can be more easily administered a syringe barrel. In some embodiments, the syringe adapter will be replaced with a needle prior to injecting the medication, while in some other embodiments, the needle is affixed for the injection to the syringe adapter in place.
