Abstract: Various embodiments enable notifications to be generated in both touch and non-touch environments. In at least some embodiments, a notification window is presented and a drag operation can reveal one or more secondary actions that can be performed. In at least some embodiments, selection of one or more of the secondary actions can occur independent of, and without utilizing additional special affordances, such as buttons.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a device displays content on a touch screen display and detects input by finger gestures. In response to the finger gestures, the device selects content, visually distinguishes the selected content, and/or updates the selected content based on detected input. In some embodiments, the device displays a command display area that includes one or more command icons; detects activation of a command icon in the command display area; and, in response to detecting activation of the command icon in the command display area, performs a corresponding action with respect to the selected content. Exemplary actions include cutting, copying, and pasting content.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus as a displaying device receives a pinch out operation on a touch panel of a portable telecommunication terminal device, when displaying the operation screen on the touch panel of the portable telecommunication terminal device. The image forming apparatus determines whether there is an identified area in the operation screen or not when receiving the pinch out operation. The image forming apparatus enlarges the image around a center of the enlargement in the identified area, in case that there is the identified area in the operation screen. The image forming apparatus enlarges the image around a center of the enlargement as a point moved from a midpoint of the pinch out operation in a direction determined based on displacement of the two contact points, a distance of the movement is determined based on displacement of the two contact points, in case that there is not the identified area in the operation screen.

Abstract: A segment ring menu is provided that is used to easily access menu items. The segment ring menu includes a number of menus that are located equidistant from an initial mouse position from where the segment ring menu is evoked. Hovering over any of the sections of the segment ring menu displays the menu items hosted in that section. The segment ring menu layout is directed at making it easy for the user to reach any of the menu items with a small amount of mouse movement.

Abstract: We disclose a system, method and software product for generating custom badges by users. A website presents to the user a badge creating dashboard, predefined color themes, predefined image frames, an badge editing canvas and image transformation tools. A user enters a user chosen image into the badge creating canvas. The user chooses a color theme and uses the image transformation tools to select portions of the image for viewing, and arranges the image in the image canvas for viewing. When the user is satisfied with the badge preview, the user sends a save request which is transferred from the browser to a server. The server generates the custom badge by applying the user chosen theme to the user chosen image. The custom badge is then saved for future retrieval by the user.

Abstract: An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a display screen and a computing hardware which is operable to execute a software product, wherein executing the software product results in generating and rendering a graphical user interface on the display screen. When rendered, the graphical user interface presents four or more user-selectable graphical objects. Selecting and moving a first graphical object towards a second graphical object is configured to result in exchanging spatial positions of the first and second graphical objects. The exchange of the spatial positions is configured to trigger starting a timer and enabling, during a time set by the timer, selecting and moving at least a third graphical object towards a fourth graphical object. The moving the third graphical object towards the fourth graphical object is configured to result in exchanging spatial positions of the third and fourth graphical objects.

Abstract: A locking apparatus is provided which includes a display including a plurality of characters comprising the predetermined characters of the personal identification code, a pointer for moving along the plurality of characters on the display means and a controller for selecting the predetermined characters of the personal identification code when the pointing means moves along the plurality of characters on the display means. The controller is configured to select a first predetermined character of the personal identification code when the pointing means is configured to move in a first direction on the display means and to pass the first predetermined character and then to stop randomly between the first predetermined character and a first predetermined marker character on the display means. The apparatus provides password fraud protection.

Abstract: A hypermedia object associated with an application, displayed on a display screen, and responsive to information is disclosed. The information is provided by a user interface input device having two-dimensional pointing functions and at least one additional user-adjustable input for entering values from a range of more than two possible values. The hypermedia object includes a first visual representation of the hypermedia object for display in a first region of a display screen, an associated responsive area in a second region of the display for in activating the hypermedia object, and a procedure for allowing a user to activate the hypermedia object from a user-initiated action enacted on the user interface input device. Activating the hypermedia object enables the entry of at least one additional user-adjustable input value for use by the associated application.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for enabling participants to interact remotely through multiple multimedia channels based on the configured capabilities of participants. The system consists of a server and one or more client devices. On joining new interactive session, the attributes and capabilities of the participant are determined. Other participants are notified as to the attributes and capabilities of the new participant. The interaction between participants is determined by their attributes and capabilities and that of the participant they wish to interact with. Participants can use a client device to join a session. If the device is capable of rendering a graphical display based on the capability information configured for that participant and device, participants can view multiple views rendered for the session in different regions of a display.

Abstract: There is provided an information processing apparatus, including an image acquisition unit which acquires an input image generated by imaging a real space using an image pickup apparatus, a display control unit which superimposes virtual objects, which are associated with one or more real objects shown in the input image, on the input image, and a selection unit which selects, after at least one real object from among the one or more real objects is designated by a user, the designated real object as an interested object across a plurality of frames. The display control unit changes displayed information, which is displayed by the virtual object associated with the interested object, according to a relative position or attitude between the interested object and the image pickup apparatus.

Abstract: The present disclosure includes an adaptive tile framework. In one embodiment, a method is disclosed comprising sending an access request from a mobile application operating on a mobile device to one or more remote systems, receiving a plurality of interactive features available on the remote systems based on a role of a user associated with the mobile application, associating the plurality interactive features with a plurality of tiles, where particular interactive features are associated with particular tiles, and where the tiles are user interface elements for interfacing with one or more specific interactive features of the remote systems, and displaying the tiles as a two-dimensional array having rows and columns of tiles. A tile placement for each tile is determined automatically.

Abstract: A user interface method employed by an electronic device displays a folder playlist playable by an application, on a touch screen and detects a touch selecting one folder in the displayed folder playlist. A touch gesture is detected comprising a continuous movement of a touch and performs a sorting operation using a name representation of a storage path of a folder where the touch is detected, in response to the continuous movement of the detected touch gesture.

Abstract: System, method, and computer program product to present differences between a plurality of different media formats of a single media title, by presenting the media title in a first media format, of the plurality of different media formats, monitoring a progress of the presentation of the media title in the first format, identifying a first difference between the first media format and a second media format, of the plurality of different media formats of the media title, and providing an indication of the first difference based on the progress of the presentation of the media title in the first media format.

Abstract: A non-interactive screen sharing session executing within a computing device can be identified. The device can be communicatively linked to different computing devices of the screen sharing session. The contents of the remote screen buffer can be analyzed to determine a graphical representation of a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) within the contents prior to presenting the contents of the buffer within the device. A visible information item can be extracted and a non-visible reference can be established from the representation. An area surrounding the representation including a position and dimensions of the representation within the contents can be determined. The representation of the URL can be replaced with an interactive element in real-time. The element can include the visible and non-visible reference. The contents of the buffer can be presented within an interface associated with the session of the device, responsive to the replacing.

Abstract: Techniques for providing an in-place contextual menu and user interface for email and other information management system triage are provided in which a contextual menu can be overlaid or replace an item on a view screen. The contextual menu can provide action commands specific to the type and state of the items selected in the feature view of the email or other information management system. A single recognized selection input, such as a swipe gesture, selects an item and invokes an in-place contextual menu presenting actions that can be asserted on the selected item. Multiple item selection is available through the same invocation of presenting the in-place contextual menu.

Abstract: A method, system, and/or computer program product manages electronic mail (e-mail). An e-mail Graphical User Interface (GUI) depicting photos of e-mail users is generated, such that the photos in the e-mail GUI depict e-mail users, and wherein the e-mail GUI is displayed to a system user. A visual cue is appended to at least one photo in the e-mail GUI, wherein the visual cue describes how many e-mails between a photo-depicted e-mail user and the system are unread.
