  • Patent number: 11516733
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish connectivity to a local area network using cellular radio access technology (RAT). The UE may establish a signaling radio link with a cellular access node (AN) via a cellular RAT. The UE may transmit a connectivity request to a network node via the signaling radio link. The connectivity request may specify a connectivity type for establishing connectivity to a LAN. Based at least in part on an acceptance of the connectivity request, the UE may establish a data radio link with the cellular AN. In an example, the acceptance of the connectivity request may include at least one parameter for configuring the connectivity to the LAN. The UE may then establish a data flow for exchanging data link layer packets with the LAN via the data radio link.

  • Patent number: 11503663
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) entity of a receiver device receives, from a radio link control (RLC) entity of the receiver device, a plurality of RLC data packets received from a transmitter device over an RLC unacknowledged mode (UM) data radio bearer (DRB) or RLC transparent mode (TM) DRB. The PDCP entity generates a plurality of PDCP data packets corresponding to the plurality of RLC data packets. The receiver device determines to send a PDCP status report indicating a reception status at the receiver device of the plurality of PDCP data packets and transmits the PDCP status report to a PDCP entity of the transmitter device. The receiver device receives, in response to sending the PDCP status report, one or more PDCP data packets of the plurality of PDCP data packets that were not successfully received at the receiver device.

  • Patent number: 11490433
Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a conflict resolving method and a terminal device. When uplink transmission conflicts with sidelink transmission in time, the terminal device can resolve the data transmission conflict based on a ProSe per-packet priority (PPPP) of data on a sidelink and a limit, thereby satisfying data transmission requirements in Release 15 and subsequent Releases. The method is applied to terminal-to-terminal communication. A terminal device needs to transmit sidelink data on M first-type carriers and transmit uplink data on N second-type carriers, and M and N are positive integers. The method includes: determining, by the terminal device based on a PPPP of the sidelink data transmitted on the M first-type carriers and a first limit, to preferentially transmit the sidelink data on some or all of the M first-type carriers, or to preferentially transmit the uplink data on some or all of the N second-type carriers.

Abstract: Systems described herein provide techniques for establishing and modifying user plane communications sessions between Long-Term Evolution (“LTE”) User Equipment (“UE”) devices, connected to LTE base stations, and a Fifth Generation (“5G”) core network. An LTE-5G Interworking function (“LTE-5G IWF”) may logically generate a virtual 5G UE and/or 5G base station, map a LTE UE to the virtual 5G UE, and cause the establishment of a Protocol Data Unit (“PDU”) Session, at the 5G core network, with the virtual 5G UE. The LTE-5G IWF may provide PDU Session information to the LTE UE and base station to facilitate the establishment of user plane communications (e.g., via a tunnel) between the LTE UE and the 5G core network. The LTE-5G IWF may also receive modification parameters, such as Quality of Service (“QoS”) parameters, and provide instructions to the 5G core and/or to the LTE UE to handle traffic according to such parameters.
