Abstract: Methods and systems for collecting and analyzing sensor data to predict water fixture failure and water consumption are provided. In one embodiment, a method is provided that includes receiving sensor data regarding a water fixture. Changepoints may then be calculated within the sensor data and the sensor data may be split into intervals at the changepoints. A machine learning model may then be used to classify the intervals and a status of the water fixture and water consumption may be identified based on the classified intervals.

  • Patent number: 11483766
Abstract: Techniques for increasing the security and reliability of frame transmission are described. In an example, a network access device transmits a first frame indicating that a protected frame is to be used for a power mode change. The network access device receives a second frame that includes an identifier of a device and a change to a power mode of the device. The network access device determines whether the second frame is protected. In addition, the network access device determines whether data received for the device is to be stored prior to transmission to the device based at least in part on whether the second frame is protected.

  • Patent number: 11470009
Abstract: Techniques for implementing multi-table OpenFlow using a parallel hardware table lookup architecture are provided. In certain embodiments, these techniques include receiving, at a network device from a software-defined networking (SDN) controller, flow entries for installation into flow tables of the network device, where the flow entries are structured in a manner that assumes the flow tables can be looked-up serially by a packet processor of the network device, but where the flow tables are implemented using hardware lookup tables (e.g., TCAMs) that can only be looked-up in parallel by the packet processor. The techniques further include converting, by the network device, the received flow entries into a format that enables the packet processor to process ingress network traffic correctly using the flow entries, despite the packet processor's parallel lookup architecture, and installing the converted flow entries into the flow tables/hardware lookup tables.

  • Patent number: 11438034
Abstract: A method for a Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH) retransmission, executed by a UE wirelessly transmitting and receiving to and from a cellular station, operates by performing a first PRACH transmission or retransmission using a first spatial domain transmission filter on first PRACH resources which are associated with a first downlink reference signal. After the first PRACH transmission or retransmission, the method performs a second PRACH retransmission using a second spatial domain transmission filter on second PRACH resources which are associated with a second downlink reference signal. Finally, method operates without incrementing a power ramping counter in response to the UE selecting the second spatial domain transmission filter different from the first spatial domain transmission filter, or incrementing the power ramping counter in response to the UE selecting the second downlink reference signal different from the first downlink reference signal.

  • Patent number: 11431829
Abstract: A system adaptably directs packet flows to packet processing elements based on OSI layer characteristics and, when necessary, inspection of data payloads. Characteristics of parsed data flows are identified. A comparison ensues. Upon recognition of a match, the entirety of the packet flow is directed to a linked packet processing element. When a match does not occur, the packet flow is directed to a second analysis tier whereby data payloads of the flow are examined. Characteristics from the data payload analysis are compared to entries in a database. Upon a match being recognized the matching packet flow is directed to the packet processing element. Features of packet flow having undergone data payload analysis are captured and used to update the database of prior associations so that any subsequent receipt of similar packet flows will be forwarded to the linked packet processing element without having to conduct a data payload analysis.

  • Patent number: 11424861
Abstract: A method and apparatus decode packetized data in the presence of packet erasures using a finite sliding window technique. A decoder receives packets containing uncoded and coded symbols. When a packet with a coded symbol is received, the decoder determines whether a packet sequence number is within a sliding window of w consecutive sequence numbers that are no greater than a decoder sequence number, where the number w is fixed prior to encoding. When this is the case, the decoder decodes the coded symbol into one or more of the w input symbols using the coefficient vector. Decoding may use a forward error correcting (FEC) window within the finite sliding window. Decoding also may use a technique of Gaussian elimination to produce a “shifted” row echelon coefficient matrix.

  • Patent number: 11425746
Abstract: Generally, the described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) generating a scheduling request (SR) for a set of data for an uplink transmission from the UE to a base station. The UE may determine whether the SR for the set of data is associated with a grant-free configuration for the UE. The grant-free configuration may indicate a set of time-frequency resources that the UE may use to transmit the set of data. The UE may transmit to the base station an indication of whether the SR is associated with the grant-free configuration. If the SR is associated with a grant-free configuration for the UE, the UE may use the corresponding resources to transmit the set of data to the base station, and the base station may then decode the data based on having received the indication of the resources by way of the grant-free configuration.

Abstract: Configuration of a communication module based on determination of an idle time metric is described. In one embodiment, signal strength data representative of composite signal strength indicators of a group of frequency channels utilized by the communication module is determined. A composite indicator of the composite signal strength indicators can be employed that comprises multiple signal strength indicators, sampled over time, of a first channel of the group of frequency channels. Respective values for the composite indicator can be assigned in response to comparisons of the multiple signal strength indicators to one or more defined threshold(s). An idle time metric of the first channel can be determined based on a combination of the respective values and a best channel from among the group of frequency channels can be determined based on the idle time metric. The communication module can be updated to communicate via the best channel.
