  • Patent number: 11561128
Abstract: An apparatus is described that determines an estimated rotational speed of a rotating component of a machine in the absence of a reliable tachometer signal to indicate an actual rotational speed. The apparatus includes a processor that produces a spectral plot of the vibrational data, locates peaks in the spectral plot, and scans the spectral plot in predetermined rotational speed increments to provide candidate rotational speeds. For each candidate rotational speed, associated harmonics are identified, closest peaks in the spectral plot to the candidate rotational speed and its harmonics are located, gaps between the closest peaks and the candidate rotational speed and its harmonics are measured, and a sum of the gaps is recorded. The estimated rotational speed is the candidate rotational speed associated with a minimum sum of the gaps.

  • Patent number: 11426833
Abstract: The present invention provides a cross-axis and cross-point modal testing and parameter identification method for predicting the cutting stability, which is used to improve the accuracy of existing prediction methods of cutting stability. The method firstly installs a miniature tri-axial acceleration sensor at the tool tip, and conducts the cross-axis and cross-point experimental modal tests respectively. The measured transfer functions are grouped according to different measuring axes, and the dynamic parameters are separately identified from each group of transfer functions. Then, the contact region between the cutter and workpiece is divided into several cutting layer differentiators. After that, together with other dynamic parameters, all the parameters are assembled into system dynamic parameter matrices matching with the dynamic model. Finally, dynamic parameter matrices including the effects of cross-axis and cross-point model couplings are obtained.

  • Patent number: 11391857
Abstract: Systems and methods for attenuating residual acoustic energy in marine seismic data are disclosed. In one aspect, a number of gathers are recorded for consecutive activations of a marine source. Each recorded gather contains a record of acoustic reflections from a subterranean formation after activation of the source and residual acoustic energy from one or more previous activations of the source. The gathers are aligned to generate aligned gathers with the residual acoustic energy coherent between the aligned gathers and the reflections incoherent between the aligned gathers. A set of model gathers of the residual acoustic energy is generated from the aligned gathers. The model gathers are subtracted from one or more of the corresponding recorded gathers to generate one or more gathers with attenuated residual acoustic energy.

  • Patent number: 11378601
Abstract: The invention relates to an operational state determination apparatus (1) for determining whether a variation in a determined electrical parameter of an electrical network (2) is caused by a variation in an operational state of an electrical consumer of the electrical network. The electrical network comprises multiple electrical consumers (3, 4, 5) and a voltage source (6), wherein a variation classification unit (10) determines whether a variation in the determined electrical parameter of the electrical network is caused by a variation in the operational state of an electrical consumer of the network depending on a decision variable which depends on a variation in a measured voltage and a variation in a measured current of the electrical network. This determination can be performed, without directly using the variation in the determined electrical parameter of the electrical network and is therefore less influenced by random voltage fluctuations in the electrical network.
