Abstract: A toy figure includes a lower torso, an upper torso rotatably attached to the lower torso, and a head and two arms each rotatably attached to the upper torso. A spring connected with the lower torso and the upper torso rotates the upper torso from a second to a first position with respect to the lower torso. A friction clutch retards rotation of the upper torso about the lower torso. A drive gear is connected with the lower torso. Two driven gears are engaged with the drive gear and mounted to a separate arm shaft of the arms. The driven gears roll around the drive gear and rotate the arms in opposite directions when the upper torso rotates about the lower torso. Upper and lower arm sections can be fixed together or hinged. Where hinged, a linkage between the lower arm and upper torso rotates each lower arm section about an upper arm section as the arm rotates about the upper torso.

Abstract: A playback mechanism is provided including a housing. Also included is a plurality of components each mounted on the housing. Such components including a speaker for transmitting audible signals via free space and a memory connected to the speaker for transmitting the audible signals therefrom. Connected to the memory is an activation switch for playing back audio signals only during the actuation thereof.

Abstract: A balloon for interlocking with another balloon that includes a body of an elastically expansible material formed into a substantially closed shape so as to define an expansible chamber therein, inflation apparatus for allowing a pressurized gas to enter and inflate the body, and interlocking apparatus for allowing one balloon to interlock with another balloon. The inflation apparatus includes a pair of tubes of an elastically expansible material and which extend axially and collinearly from, and are integrally formed with, opposing ends of the body and terminate in open ends with circumferential lips, and are in fluid communication with the expansible chamber for allowing the pressurized gas to enter and inflate the expansible chamber. The interlocking apparatus includes the inflation apparatus being tied by a string after the body is inflated, and with the string tying the inflation apparatus of one balloon also tying the inflation apparatus of an adjacent balloon so as to from a chain of balloons.

The heated stuffed toy includes a body member having a stuffed interior and an outer layer configured to resemble a predetermined figure. A heating element for providing heat when energized is provided in the interior of the body. The heating element is positioned adjacent the outer layer of the body member in a serpentine arrangement extending over the entire body member including the extremities of the body member.

Abstract: A generally circular flat housing supports a handle, a pivotable lever, and a base portion. At the circular portion of the housing, a ring of character segments each having a visually depicted character thereon are supported. A pointer is rotatably supportable upon the housing and is movable to point to a selected one of the characters. A character image is supported on a circular plate at the center of the housing and includes apparatus for moving face components to simulate the speaking action of the image character. An electronic sound module of conventional design is supported within the interior of the housing and is provided with speech or phrase selections by a rotating multiple segment contact pad set together with a pair of contact brushes. When the pivotally mounted handle is pulled down, a gear drive mechanism is configured for operation and energy is stored in a return spring.

A saw mill is positioned substantially adjacent the dumper station. The saw mill receives a toy log from the dumper station and separates the toy log into two distinct pieces.

Abstract: A high performance yo-yo incorporates an axle ball bearing comprising non-metallic inner and outer races mounted on the central axle. A full complement axle bearing including non-metallic inner and outer races with matching grooves for retaining a plurality of balls between the bearing races is disclosed. Applicants have found, unexpectedly, that this type of bearing has highly desirable low friction characteristics that provide a long spin time, yet permit retrieval of the yo-yo upon command by a simple flick of the wrist. The central axle mounted in one of the yo-yo components is removably engageable in a sleeve mounted in the other yo-yo component to provide a yo-yo that is easily and conveniently assembled and disassembled.

Abstract: A modular building for a toy building set includes a planar member, or foundation, having raised ribs on its top and a wall member having a wall portion and a base portion. The wall portion of the wall member is substantially orthogonal to the base portion of the wall member. The base portion of the wall member has a cleft therein sized to receive one of the ribs of the foundation to removably attach the wall member to the foundations. A substantially planar coupler connects at least two or more of the foundation. The coupler has at least two clefts therein. The clefts are sized to receive the ribs on each of the two foundations for removable attachment of the foundation to the coupler.

Abstract: A component set for assembling toy cubes made up of a first member having a square bottom and square side walls extending from the edges of the bottom member in a direction normal thereto and a second member made up of a square lid and side walls extending similarly therefrom, the second member being of similar shape as the first member but dimensioned to fit into the cavity formed by the bottom and side walls. The first and second members are provided with recesses or slots extending from free edges thereof and protrusions to be received by the recesses or slots. When the second member is inserted into the first member the slots or other openings will form openings penetrating the center of each side wall. Some of the bottoms and lids have cylindrical protrusions extending from their center and dimensioned to fit into the openings, and some of the bottom and lids may have apertures similar to those in the side walls.

A dimple in the tab accommodates receipt of a double knot at one end of the ribbon, while a slot in the spool accommodates receipt of a double knot of the ribbon at the opposite end. A piece of double backed adhesive tape is provided on the breakaway tab to allow for securement of the tab to the neck or tail of an inflated balloon.

Once assembled, the figure resembles a costumed male or female human, is substantially human-proportioned, and preferably has articulable appendages. Abstract: An illuminated toy pail includes a translucent pail body, a handle attached to the pail body, and a retainer affixed to the interior of the pail body which is effective for holding a chemical light stick within the interior of the pail body. The bottom of the retainer includes a press-fit flange which is press fit into a pre-formed hole in the bottom wall of the pail body, and the top of the retainer includes a vertical bore which releasably receives and holds the light stick in a vertical orientation within the interior of the pail. The activated chemical light sticks can be easily inserted into the pail to illuminate the pail, thereby providing both novelty and safety aspects to the pail. When used, for example, in a Halloween, pumpkin-shaped pail body, the light causes the translucent pail body to glow as if a candle were lighted inside the pumpkin, provides a small amount of light to illuminate the ground below, and provides a highly visible, lighted safety indicator for passing vehicles.

The package includes a carton whose a flat rear wall is joined to a semi-cylindrical front wall to define a cavity, the front wall having a bay window therein. Behind the rear wall and hinged thereto a flap that is normally folded over the rear wall and fastened thereto. When the flap is unfolded, it creates in combination with the rear wall a stage backdrop having printed thereon material relating to the character, such as dialog taken from movies involving the character. Received within the cavity is an insert on which is mounted the figure, as well as a miniature stage and stage props, all of which can be seen through the window. In play, the flap is unfolded to erect the stage backdrop, the stage is placed in front of the backdrop with the figure standing thereon and with the props adjacent thereto. By manipulating the figure relative to the props against the backdrop, a player can enact a scene involving the character.

The second opening has mating pieces of hook and loop fastening material secured thereto for closure of the second opening. The inner fabric pouch is irregularly configured and has a bottom tapered base portion and a broadened portion secured to the bottom tapered base portion.
