Abstract: A display driver multiplexes gray-scale data captured by a data latch and outputs a data signal to a comb-tooth distributed data line. The data latch includes a gray-scale bus to which the gray-scale data for first to third color components is supplied corresponding to the arrangement order of the data lines. A first data latch, a second data latch, a first shift register, a second shift register, a first clock signal line, and a second clock signal line are N multiplexed. A multiplexer multiplexes N sets of gray-scale data captured by the first and second data latches. The display driver outputs the data signal corresponding to first or second multiplexed data to a data signal supply line.
Abstract: The present invention addresses the above described problems by simplifying the assumptions on possible motions made by a user. This simplification process can take place by making an assumption that the motion of the device will travel along a certain preferential motion arc, which will be referred to herein as the “Javal arc.” Calculations of motions of the device can be made based on these Javal arcs. Additionally, the double integration of each accelerometer is now eliminated and the expensive accelerometers are replaced by two magnetic sensors.
Abstract: Audio, video, text and image presentation systems allow visitors to display facilities and other public spaces to proactively select detailed information about the various items located within such facilities and spaces. Exemplary embodiments can be used in a museum exhibition to convey detailed information relating to museum artifacts. Alternatively, embodiments can be used in a convention center or retail environment to deliver information relating to products or services. Advantageously, information content delivered to the user includes high-quality audio, video and static images and, through a combination of selection functionality and bookmarking functionality, exemplary systems provide a link between the public space elements (e.g., artifacts, products, services, etc.) and additional, still more detailed information delivered off-line via another medium such as the World Wide Web (WWW) or a fixed workstation environment within the public space.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a simple to use intuitive interface for mobile devices and, in particular, to a method and apparatus to permit the motion of a mobile device to serve as an input to the mobile device. In various embodiments, the relative and/or absolute motion, distance and/or acceleration for instance, of the mobile device may be mapped to correspond to particular commands. In one embodiment, this permits the display screen of the mobile device to serve as a virtual window to view a large data set by modifying the view of the displayed data according to the motion of the mobile device. In another embodiment, the present invention allows the user to navigate a virtual space, displayed on the screen of the mobile device, by the motion of the mobile device in real space. Additionally, the user may also control the different displayed views of virtual objects by the relative and/or absolute motion of the mobile device.
Abstract: An architecture for a smart liquid crystal display (LCD) panel interface is described. The architecture enables a circuit to transfer only updated display data to the interface. When there are no display data updates to transfer, the circuit is placed in the lowest power state to reduce power consumption while the interface displays information locally stored.
Abstract: An organic electroluminescent display device includes a scan line, a data line, a voltage supply line, a switching transistor connected to the scan and data lines, a driving transistor connected to the switching transistor and the voltage supply line, a storage capacitor connected between the switching transistor and the voltage supply line, and an organic light-emitting diode connected to the driving transistor and ground. A black display voltage applied to the data line is supplied to the driving transistor when a first gate ON signal is applied to the scan line. A video data voltage applied to the data line is supplied to the driving transistor when a second gate ON signal is applied to the scan line. The voltages are applied at least once each frame.
Abstract: A light emitting device capable of preventing a luminance of individual light emitting elements from being fluctuated by applying electrical characteristics of TFTs for properly controlling current being fed to individual light emitting elements, and also capable of generating the constant luminance without adversely being affected by possible degradation of organic light emitting layers and variable temperature by way of preventing the luminance of light emitting elements from being lowered through degradation of organic light emitting layers. Instead of controlling the luminance of light emitting elements by means of a voltage applied to TFTs, by way of properly controlling current flowing into TFTs via a signal-line driving circuit, it is possible to hold on the current flowing into light emitting elements at a desired value without adversely being affected by electrical characteristics of TFTs.

Abstract: There is provided a portable information apparatus including an EL display device which can reduce consumed electric power at the time when a still picture is displayed. In the EL display device included in the portable information apparatus, a plurality of memory circuits and a D/A converter are arranged in a pixel. When the EL display device displays the still picture, picture display functions other than the EL display device and control circuits for controlling the EL display device are stopped, so that the portable information apparatus capable of reducing the consumed electric power can be obtained.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a driving circuit of a liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof. The method includes receiving a M-bit image data from an image data input terminal and extracting N most significant bits (MSB)of the M-bit image data to form a N-bit image data. The N-bit image data is delayed by one frame period to form a N-bit delayed image data. The N-bit delayed image data is compared with P MSB of a current M-bit image data to determine whether to generate a first data voltage according to a first image value selected from a reference table, or to generate a second data voltage according to the current M-bit image data.
Abstract: An active type display panel comprises a plurality of pixel sections each having a series circuit constituted by a light emitting element and a drive element for supplying a drive current to the light emitting element, a pair of power supply lines which connect the series circuits of the pixel sections in parallel, and a plurality of measurement lines. Each of the pixel sections includes a switch element between a point connecting the light emitting element and the drive element, and one line of the measurement lines. A display device, in which the display panel is used, detects the voltage across the terminals of the light emitting element and controls the drive element such that the voltage across these terminals is a predetermined voltage.
