Abstract: A method is provided for forming an adhered membrane roof system that meets Factory Mutual (FM) 4470/4474 standards for wind uplift. The method comprises applying a bond adhesive to a substrate on a roof to form an adhesive layer and applying a membrane directly to the adhesive layer. The bond adhesive includes a moisture-curable polymer.
Abstract: Provided is a graphene-based aqueous coating suspension comprising multiple graphene sheets, particles of an anti-corrosive pigment or sacrificial metal, and a waterborne binder resin dissolved or dispersed in water, wherein the multiple graphene sheets contain single-layer or few-layer graphene sheets selected from a pristine graphene material having essentially zero % of non-carbon elements, or a non-pristine graphene material having 0.001% to 47% by weight of non-carbon elements wherein the non-pristine graphene is selected from graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide, graphene fluoride, graphene chloride, graphene bromide, graphene iodide, hydrogenated graphene, nitrogenated graphene, doped graphene, chemically functionalized graphene, or a combination thereof and wherein the coating suspension does not contain a silicate binder or microspheres dispersed therein. Also provided is an object or structure coated at least in part with such a coating.

Abstract: Branched organopolysiloxanes are prepared from alkoxysilanes and polydiorganosiloxanes over two stages by basic equilibration and subsequent acid-catalyzed reaction with water to the desired degree of condensation, wherein the entire process does not require the use of additional organic solvent, no wastewater is generated and the process is particularly suitable for the controlled production of so-called DT resins.
Abstract: A one-pack type curable silicone gel composition which contains: 100 parts by mass of (A) a branched chain organopolysiloxane having a specific structure from 0.1 part by mass to 50 parts by mass of (B) a diorganopolysiloxane having both molecular chain ends blocked with diorganohydrogensiloxy groups; (C) a platinum-based catalyst; and (D) a phosphite compound represented by formula (3) (wherein R2 represents a monovalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms; and X represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group) in such an amount that more than 3 molecules hut not more than 15 molecules of the phosphite compound represented by formula (3) are present per one platinum atom in component (C). This one-pack type curable silicone gel composition is stable in terms of characteristics and physical properties even if exposed to a temperature more than 50° C. for a long period of time.
Abstract: A method of making a polysilylether (PSE) polymer includes: cooling a solution of diethylamine to 0° C. under argon; adding cold dialkyldichlorosilane to form a first mixture; slowly warming the first mixture to form dialkylbis(diethylamino)silane; diluting the first mixture with hexane then filtering via cannula; evaporating the hexane and excess diethylamine; purifying the dialkylbis(diethylamino)silane under vacuum distillation; adding the dialkylbis(diethylamino)silane to a solution of diol dissolved in tetrahydrofuran to form a second mixture; heating the second mixture to 60° C. while reflux condensing, and cooling and concentrating the second mixture under vacuum to form a resultant mixture containing the polysilylether (PSE) polymer.

Abstract: To provide a photosensitive composition capable of easily forming a cured film having a low refractive index. The present invention provides a photosensitive siloxane composition comprising: a polysiloxane, a photosensitive agent, hollow silica particles, and a solvent. The hollow silica particles contain voids inside, and have outer surfaces subjected to hydrophobic treatment.
Abstract: There are provided: a composition for forming a water repellent film that can form a water repellent film not only excellent in water repellency but also excellent in abrasion resistance, particularly in abrasion resistance evaluated under close-to-actual-use conditions where a light resistance test is combined; a water repellent film formed by using the composition for forming a water repellent film; a substrate with a water repellent film including the water repellent film provided on at least part of a substrate; and an article including the substrate with a water repellent film. The composition for forming a water repellent film contains, at a predetermined quantitative ratio of a hydrolyzable silane compound (1) having a perfluoroalkyl group and having no ether bond; and a compound (21) that has a poly(oxyfluoroalkylene) group and a plurality of hydrolyzable silyl groups with a specific structure and that has a number average molecular weight of 3000 or more.
Abstract: Skin-contact products with a transpiration function such as medical devices or medicinal products, of which face masks, aspirators, ventilators, breast pumps or wound dressings are examples are described especially a skin-contact product with a transpiration function with an improved microclimate at a patient interface material-skin contact area. In an embodiment a material system is described that comprises a hydrophobic silicone base material and a hydrophilic silicone material that is combined with the hydrophobic base material.

Abstract: The present invention concerns type II photoinitiators for the free-radical crosslinking of silicone compositions, in particular acrylic silicone compositions. The present invention concerns a silicone composition C1 that can be crosslinked by exposure to radiation with a wavelength of between 300 and 450 nm, comprising: —at least one organopolysiloxane A comprising at least one methacrylate group bonded to a silicon atom, at least one organohydrogenopolysiloxane H comprising at least two, and preferably at least three hydrogen atoms each bonded to different silicon atoms, and—at least one free-radical photoinitiator P. The present invention also concerns the provision of a silicone composition that can be polymerized or crosslinked by free-radical process comprising a type II photoinitiator system suitable for crosslinking silicone compositions, in particular by exposure to radiation, and absorbing light radiation with a wavelength greater than 300 nm.

Abstract: Provided is: a thermally conductive silicone gel composition which has a high thermal conductivity, and is less likely to flow out and slip off/drop off from a surface on which the gel composition is placed, even when the composition that has not been cured is placed on a sloped surface or in a vertical direction, and has excellent gap-filling ability with respect to a heat dissipation part, etc., and excellent repairability if desired; a thermally conductive member comprising the thermally conductive silicone gel composition; and a heat dissipation structure using the same. The thermally conductive silicone gel composition comprises: (A) an alkenyl group-containing organopolysiloxane; (B) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane; (C) a catalyst for a hydrosilylation reaction; (D) a thermally conductive filler; (E) a silane-coupling agent; and (F) a specific organopolysiloxane having a hydrolyzable silyl group at one end thereof. The gel composition has certain viscosity properties as disclosed herein.
