  • Patent number: 11528588
Abstract: Local weather information such as a nationwide emergency network for first responders can enable first responders to communicate nationally with a single network, linking to suppliers, utilities, and weather information. The system disclosed herein can provide data to first responders and data from first responders can provide insights into local conditions that can be utilized by edge data centers. Adding first responder data can improve the processing speed of moving of edge-based applications out of threatened data centers. Because this movement can also have an impact on low latency applications, identifying the closest edge sites without an impact can keep the applications operating.

  • Patent number: 11528589
Abstract: A device, system and method for modifying actions associated with an emergency call is provided. A mobile device operates a virtual assistant application, which connects to an emergency call that includes a dispatcher and a caller communicating on the emergency call. The mobile device monitors, using the virtual assistant application, the emergency call to determine context information of the emergency call. The mobile device receives, at the virtual assistant application, sensor data from sensors associated with the mobile device. The mobile device correlates, using the virtual assistant application, the context information with the sensor data. The mobile device causes, using the virtual assistant application, a modification of an action associated with the emergency call based on a correlation between the context information with the sensor data.

  • Patent number: 11443612
Abstract: A rescue system includes a receiver, an emergency medical staff arrival time estimation unit, an acquisition unit, a user arrival time estimation unit, and a transmitter. The receiver receives a request for rescue of a rescued person and rescued person location information. The emergency medical staff arrival time estimation unit estimates an emergency medical staff arrival time at which an emergency medical staff arrives at the rescued person based on the rescued person location information. The acquisition unit acquires user location information of a registered user that is a candidate for a rescuer. The user arrival time estimation unit estimates the user arrival time when the registered user arrives at the rescued person based on the user location information. The transmitter transmits the request for rescue to the registered user that is able to arrive earlier than the emergency medical staff.

  • Patent number: 11443613
Abstract: A cloud-based real-time crime center with dispatch directed digital media payloads configured to support both emergency dispatchers and emergency responders responding to an incident requiring assistance. The new dispatch system is “cloud-based” in that it provides a central hub or repository for gathering live video streams and data streams that are processed to fuse them together to provide a map-based interface for the dispatcher to access via a desktop or other computing station at a central agency location and for the responders in the field to access via vehicle-mounted or portable client devices. The dispatch system processes the video and data streams to generate a dispatch directed payload that includes data and video relevant to the identified incident and that can be readily communicated (due to its reduced or controlled size) to field responders to make their response more effective and to increase both the safety of the responders and those involved in the incident.

  • Patent number: 11444990
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for simultaneously displaying a session view of a videoconferencing session and a participant-initiated breakout session view. The session view displays a video feed of the videoconferencing session to meeting participants of the videoconferencing session on their respective participant computers. The breakout session participants are a subset of the meeting participants. The simultaneous display may be generated by a videoconferencing system to be displayed on a single online meeting user interface, or the simultaneous display may be created from two different videoconferencing systems, one for creating the session view, and another one for creating the participant-initiated breakout session view. The session view of the videoconferencing session is a breakout session, and the non-host participant-initiated breakout session is a further breakout session created from this breakout session.

  • Patent number: 11438449
Abstract: A community safety system (CSS) including a notification management entity (NME) comprising servers, the NME communicatively coupled to multiple user devices and one or more administrator devices (collectively, registered user devices). The CSS includes a plurality of registered users, wherein each registered user is associated with an organization, and a user category of a set of user categories. The NME may maintain a list of the registered users and associated information. The registered users may have user devices including a CSS application operating thereon. In some embodiments the CSS enables inter-organizational communication, allowing for members of a first organization to provide alerts that the NME can pass to a second organization when the registered user is physically located within a security zone associated with a second organization but not a member of the second organization.

  • Patent number: 11431844
Abstract: A communication server detects a first communication request from a first caller device to a second caller device. The communication server detects a second communication request from the second caller device to the first caller device. The first communication request and the second communication request both occur within a threshold time period. The communication server establishes, without additional input from the first caller device and the second caller device, an active session in response to the first communication request. The active session is established between the first caller device and the second caller device. The communication server dismisses the second communication request.

  • Patent number: 11418760
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems that display visual indicators that provide user awareness of independent activity of participants in a communication session. The visual indicators are displayed within a Together Mode user interface that gives participants of a communication session a feeling that they are in the same room. The visual indicators further the technical benefits of the Together Mode user interface by providing additional context to particular non-verbal social cues. A system can generate a visual indicator that notifies meeting participants that a particular user is engaged with a computing device. The visual indicator can be generated in response to detecting that the user is interacting with an input device, such as a keyboard or touchscreen. The visual indicator mitigates confusion of non-verbal social cues, e.g., when a person appears to be looking at another participant of a meeting but is actually looking at, and interacting with, a computer.
