Abstract: A golf shoe has a sole and a heel attached to an upper. A spike is housed within a housing inserted into the sole or the heel. The housing includes a hollow cylinder threaded into the sole or heel. The cylinder houses a helical spring that biases a spike to the extended position. When the shoe is used on a hard surface, the surface forces the spike upward against the spring to a retracted position.
Abstract: Ski boot made of plastic material consisting of:a deformable shell having two tongues which overlap to form flaps over the top of the foot;a cuff with a hinge on the shell shaped to form, at the front, two straps forming flaps over the front of the lower part of the leg;closing devices intended to slide the flaps over each other and thereby secure the foot in the shell and the lower part of the leg in the cuff;wherein the flap of the shell which corresponds to the outside edges of the foot covers the flap of the inside edge of the foot, whereas the flap which corresponds to the inside edge of the cuff covers the flap of the outside edge of the cuff.
Abstract: A waterproof article of manufacture and method of manufacturing the same including a waterproof, breathable shell and an aqueous based waterproof sealant disposed on the shell adjacent seams used to assemble the shell into an article. The article may be a lining for footwear.
Abstract: The lever device includes a lever arm arranged at at least one adapted seat defined on one of the flaps. At least one grip element for engagement members provided on the lever arm is associated with the other one of the flaps. The insertion of the lever arm within the adapted seat thus allows to have high strength characteristics and to not require a surface finish of good aesthetic quality, in view of its partial concealment, as well as to give the boot a neat aesthetic appearance, there being no protruding elements and because of the reduced size.
Abstract: Device for opening and closing a rear-entry ski boot, by simultaneous rotation of front and rear portions of the upper without raising the front portion. The rear portion rotates on the shell base about a hinge pin, and the front portion about a pivot axis at the front end of the shell base. The front and rear portions are joined to each other by a pin-and-slot connection located in overlapping extensions of these elements.
