  • Patent number: 8718658
Abstract: A method of operating a target terminal being serviced by a serving base station is provided. In a downlink case, the target terminal being served by the serving base station may provide a feedback message to a neighboring base station. The feedback message may be used by the neighboring base station to verify channel information between the serving base station and the target terminal, and channel information between the neighboring base station and the target terminal. In an uplink case, the neighboring base station may provide the feedback message to the target terminal. The target terminal may transfer, to the serving base station, channel information between the neighboring base station and a particular terminal, and channel information between the neighboring base station and the target terminal that are verified based on the feedback message. The feedback message may be transferred using a common shared channel or a random access channel.

  • Patent number: 8712456
Abstract: A method and a system of channel detecting and reporting, a terminal, and a management center are provided. The method includes: a first access device of a terminal detects a channel status of one or more channels; and a second access device of the terminal reports a channel detection result detected by the first access device to destination equipment through an access network. The system includes a terminal and a management center. The terminal can access an access network through various access devices and report a channel detection result to the management center. The management center adjusts communication parameters of relevant equipment according to the detection result. The channel detection result can be reported in time, so that communication dead zones are prevented, and probability of long-term interference on hidden nodes in a communication system is reduced.

  • Patent number: 8270905
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining proximity of a headset relative to its base. A plurality of frequency swept RSSI signals are measured and processed to determine a near status or a far status of the headset relative to its base. In one example, a peak RSSI signal is identified in the plurality of frequency swept RSSI signals. The peak RSSI signal is compared to a near/far threshold RSSI value to generate a near status or far status indication.

  • Patent number: 7949376
Abstract: Each station makes a transition to a power saving state autonomously in response to the reception of signals from the other stations in the same group and the transmission of its own signal. Each station sets its transmission timing such that it does not overlap the transmission timing of the other stations, by referring to data elements included in a beacon signal. The transmission timing in the stations is determined for each transmission.

  • Patent number: 7941093
Abstract: A method for frequency conversion within a satellite-based repeater system. An uplink radio frequency signal having a frequency fRF is received. A first and at least a second local oscillator signal having frequencies fL01 and fLO2, respectively, is generated. The uplink signal is mixed at a first frequency conversion stage with the first local oscillator signal to generate an intermediate signal having a frequency fMF. The intermediate signal is mixed at a second frequency conversion stage with the at least second local oscillator signal to generate a downlink signal having a frequency fIF. The generation and mixing of the signals are performed such that: fLO1 and fLO2>fRF and fIF fMF=fLO1?fRF, and fIF=fLO2?fMF.

  • Patent number: 7937063
Abstract: A method and system for protecting a LNA by acquiring a radio frequency control channel signal at a tower top low noise amplifier (TTLNA) system. In response to acquiring the radio frequency control channel signal, LNA mode information is determined from the acquired radio frequency control channel signal. Based at least in part on the determination, the TTLNA is configured to either receive mode when the LNA mode information indicates receive mode or transmit mode when the LNA mode information indicates transmits mode. In an exemplary embodiment, the TTLNA is configured to receive mode only after a determination is made that there is no transmit energy present on the feedline connecting the BTS and the antenna. In another exemplary embodiment, the TTLNA is initialized in transmit mode.
