  • Patent number: 11413226
Abstract: A Pickering formulation for use as a pharmaceutical or cosmetic composition for regenerating skin cells, allowing reducing skin stretch marks on a human skin, or healing skin cells after a burn, such as a sunburn. The Pickering formulation comprises an emulsion of oil and water phases stabilized with an organic-modified natural physosillicate, such as hectorite, montmori-Uonite, or bentonite. The pharmaceutical or cosmetic composition can be free of primary emulsifier or primary surfactant reducing as such the toxicity of the composition for the skin. As such, the pharmaceutical or cosmetic composition may consist essentially of the Pickering formulation. Indeed, it is demonstrated that the Pickering formulation can act itself as an active ingredient of the pharmaceutical or cosmetic composition leading to significant skin cell regeneration. The invention is particularly useful for reduction of stretchmarks. The Pickering formulation also boosts the sun protection factor, or SFP, of sunscreen compositions.
