  • Patent number: 4537084
Abstract: A mechanism to set in motion the rectilinear transfer of a moving body sliding in relation to a support is disclosed. A servomotor drives a shaft in rotation. The rotation is transformed by pulleys and belts. Two belts are staggered along the shaft axis and are wound on two pulleys of the same diameter. A first end of each of these belts is attached to the corresponding pulley, while the second end of each of these belts is attached to the moving body, the winding directions being opposite so that each rotation in one direction or the other of the shaft causes the winding of one of the belts and the unwinding of the other. Application is to Cartesian displacement robot arms and devices of rectilinear transfer with cross-motions back and forth and up and down.

  • Patent number: 4531419
Abstract: To provide a power brake having relatively small hysteresis between brake pedal pressure and brake hose pressure and with compact construction, the push rod leading from the brake pedal to the brake master cylinder is divided into an input rod and an output rod. A pressure sensitive element is disposed between the rods and is displacable therewith. The pressure-sensitive element determines the force with which the servo member acts upon the output rod.

  • Patent number: 4527443
Abstract: A device for supporting and sealing a final drive shaft bearing in a speed change gear having a construction in which a final drive shaft is supported by a bearing holder via a rolling element bearing and the bearing holder is fitted and fixed to a gear box. A stopper flange is formed at the inner end portion of the bearing holder and a first nut is screwed to the outer end portion of the bearing holder so as to clamp the outer race of the rolling element bearing in cooperation with the stopper flange. A seal housing is integrally formed with the bearing holder and extends outside the nut. An oil seal is fitted to the seal housing and has a seal lip that comes into contact with the outer circumferential surface of the drive shaft. The final drive shaft is equipped with a helical bevel gear and the rolling element bearing consists of a double-row angular contact type bearing. A second nut for clamping the inner race of the bearing in cooperation with the bevel gear is screwed to the final drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 4526054
Abstract: A transmission, e.g. a wheel hub gear (1), with a load-dependent, controllable splash lubrication. It has a second, oil storage, zone (12), which is a continuation of its housing (2). This oil storage zone (12) has an annular chamber (16). By displacing oil from the first zone (11) into the second zone (12) via an interconnection port (13), a displacement which is achieved by means of centrifugal forces, by draw-tube-like interconnection ports, or by integrated displacement elements (18, 19), one obtains a reduction of the submersion depth (9) of the rotating gear parts (4) to a thickness (8) of an oil ring (7) which forms at the interior casing surface (6). The minimum oil ring (7a) which is thus established secures adequate residual lubrication during normal operation of the gear with minimal energy losses from splashing, etc. For occasional higher loads, e.g.

  • Patent number: 4524641
Abstract: Two piston and cylinders 13, 15 and 16, 18 control the force reaction of a roller mounting in a continuously-variable-ratio transmission of the rolling traction type. A pressure control valve 23 controls the net force on the roller mounting by controlling the relative pressure in two pressure lines which include the cylinders. A flow dividing valve 22 equalizes the flows in the lines by feedback across two identical orifices 26, 27. Excessive displacements of the roller mounting (which could cause the rollers to run off their toroidal races) are controlled by ports 19, 20, which are restricted at respective ends of the permissible movement. The restriction causes a pressure build up in the cylinder which resists that threatening the original overshoot, while restricting the effect of the pressure control valve by virtue of the action of the orifices 26, 27 and flow dividing valve 22, and this also reduces the pressure which originally threatened the overshoot.

  • Patent number: 4515028
Abstract: A multi-speed drive has input and output shafts aligned on a first axis and connected to one another by a cone drive which has a plurality of conical surfaces sloped at various angles to form a "composite" cone. The composite cone is connected to the input shaft by a crank and rotates about a second axis which is oblique to, but intersects, the first axis at a point of intersection which is also a point of coincidence of the apexes of the conical surfaces. The composite cone rolls on one of a plurality of annular, conical surfaces, each of which is aligned with one of the conical surfaces on the cone. In accordance with the illustrated embodiment, all of the annular surfaces are free to rotate with respect to the composite cone, with the exception of the single annular surface that the composite cone rolls upon. This surface may be selected by stopping its rotation with a braking device, such as a pin or a prony brake.

  • Patent number: 4503899
Abstract: A locking mechanism for a gear drive such as the gear drive of a roll-type shutter or awning. One of the gear shafts, preferably the driving gear shaft, is rotatably supported such as to be longitudinally displaceable, and carries at its free end a transverse pin. A stationary member is provided with radial grooves engageable by the projecting end of the pin when the shaft is longitudinally displaced under the action of a coil spring. The gear is coupled to the shaft by a pin transversely disposed through the shaft and projecting in longitudinal grooves formed in a portion of the gear. The locking mechanism is unlocked by introducing the end of a crank handle into a coupling socket mounted on the other end of the shaft, and applying longitudinal pressure with the crank handle, such as to disengage the locking mechanism prior to hand-driving the shaft in rotation by way of the crank handle.

A clutch pedal is connected to the bellcrank for pivoting the bellcrank thereby raising and lowering the floating plate member and driven disc. The bellcrank pin is biased by a spring which is connected to the bellcrank to apply a downward normal force on the floating plate member and driven disc. Guide pins are provided on the floating plate member which are engageable with guide brackets to limit the vertical movement of the floating plate member.

  • Patent number: 4499782
Abstract: A toroidal race rolling friction transmission unit in which hydraulic actuators act upon most of the rollers to cause them to change ratio angle, but in which one of the rollers has a mechanical mechanism by which precise increments of ratio-change may be imparted. A hydraulic device senses the torque reaction of that roller, and is hydraulically linked to the actuators of the other rollers so that they are subjected to a force equal to the reaction force experienced by the mechanically-actuated roller. The hydraulic actuators may be in the form of two-step piston-and-cylinder devices, the actuating forces being exerted in one step, while a damping force is exerted in the other step.

  • Patent number: 4495827
Abstract: In this window winder, at the end of the travel, the active face (7) of the abutment (6) of the driven toothed sector (4) is substantially perpendicular to the direction of the force (F.sub.1) of the meshed teeth. This produces in the engaged part of the toothed sector a radial force (R.sub.2) which urges it against the drive pinion (10). This avoids a deformation of the toothed sector in the event of an excessive force being exerted on this pinion.
