Abstract: In a forwarding network comprising a function chain network controller, a plurality of intermediate network functions (NFs) and flow-based chain selectors (FBCSs) forming VNFs and configured to transfer data packets via a plurality of links, a method comprising a FBCS requesting substitution in the header representation of function chain entries of a data packet header in a flow with a different representation of function chain entries, wherein the flow bypasses at least one intermediate FBCS based on the substituted function chain entries representation. The function chain network controller discovers FBCS capable nodes and their topology, and maintains a function chain substitution state and distributes it to the FBCS relevant substitutions. The function chain network controller distributes a list of adjacent FBCSs to the FBCS, and distributes a list of abstracted adjacent FBCSs to the FBCS and translates requests from an abstracted value to a real value.

  • Patent number: 9813361
Abstract: A method is disclosed for selectively turning off a switch arrangement for current distribution. A corresponding switch arrangement is also disclosed, including an upstream switch and a directly downstream switch connected in series, each switch being configured to check a current condition associated therewith. Connected between the upstream switch and the downstream switch is a communication link onto which the downstream switch puts a delay signal if its current condition is met and there is no fault present. Following reception of the delay signal, the upstream switch opens only after a delay time. In order to ensure turning off when there is a fault in the opening of a downstream switch even in the case of small overcurrents, when the current condition is met and the fault that prevents opening occurs, the downstream switch puts a fault report onto the communication link that trips the upstream switch.

  • Patent number: 9801212
Abstract: To solve a problem that unless all of a plurality of AICH signature states are correctly decoded, the contents of reception results cannot be recognized and the error rate of signature decoding will be high. In this embodiment, a base station uses, out of a signature combination, the signature of at least one predetermined position to indicate information containing a preamble reception result and uses the signature of a position other than the predetermined position to indicate a transmission profile information number of an uplink channel for notification to a user equipment. Thus, the error rate related to reception results can be reduced as compared with the case where a single signature combination is used to notify all pieces of information.

  • Patent number: 9794966
Abstract: The disclosure discloses an identifier assignment method in a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), which includes: a group identifier is set for a non-Access Point Station (STA). The method further includes: in a process during which the STA associates or reassociates to an Access Point (AP), a terminal identifier is assigned to the associated or reassociated STA or a terminal identifier and a group identifier are assigned to the associated or reassociated STA. The disclosure also discloses an identifier assignment device in a WLAN for implementing the terminal access method. The terminal identifier is significantly expanded through the setting of the group identifier, so that a unique identifier can be assigned to the STA accessing to the AP without identifier repetition of the STA. Meanwhile, the grouping of the STA also facilitates the scheduling and management of the STA in a group. The disclosure ensures that sufficient STAs can access to the AP and a different identifier can be assigned to each STA.

  • Patent number: 9794118
Abstract: The operating configuration at a node in a wireless communication network, at a neighboring node in the network, and/or at one or more wireless devices supported by the network, is updated based on determining timing information for an impending interruption of a radio link in the network to avoid erroneous operation during the impending interruption, which interruption is associated with an external system. The determination of interruption timing, which may be inferred, e.g., from detecting prior interruptions, or which may be known from information about the external system, and the modification of the operating configuration(s) permits the network to operate with greater stability, control, and accuracy during the interruptions than would be possible if the interruptions were simply treated as intermittent radio link failures.

  • Patent number: 9787377
Abstract: The disclosure provides for interference mitigation for wireless signals in unlicensed spectrum. A wireless device may receive a combined signal including a first radio access technology (RAT) signal and a second RAT signal. The wireless device may generate, using a first RAT receiver in a first processing path, a channel estimate for the first RAT signal based on a previously decoded signal of the first RAT. The wireless device may reduce interference to the second RAT signal caused by the first RAT signal, in a second processing path, using the channel estimate. The wireless device may further decode the second RAT signal. The wireless device may remodulate the decoded signal using a transmitter to generate a remodulated second RAT signal. The remodulated second RAT signal may be canceled from the combined signal. The wireless device may decode a remaining portion of the combined signal including the first RAT signal.

  • Patent number: 9780860
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for controlling a reference signal mode to facilitate beamforming. A load amount for reference signals from one or more wireless devices in communication with an access node is determined and compared with load level criteria. When the load amount meets or exceeds the load level criteria, the one or more wireless devices are directed to transmit reference signals using a subband mode of transmission. A subband quality is determined for a plurality of subbands available for the one or more wireless devices and a subband for reference signal transmission is selected from the plurality of subbands based on channel quality criteria. Wireless transmission, such as from an access node, to the one or more wireless devices is scheduled utilizing beamforming based on the reference signal.
