  • Patent number: 4096629
Abstract: A pocket-sized claw-like multibladed weapon adapted to be held in the closed fist with the blades being spaced apart and projecting outwardly between adjoining fingers; likened to animal claws or talons of birds of prey. For storage and handling of the weapon, the blades are retractable, foldable, pivotable, and/or otherwise reposable in a confined manner, so that the weapon may be safely carried in the user's pocket or purse while occupying a minimal space. The weapon may be rapidly converted or erected from its reposed condition to its activated position when required.

  • Patent number: 4094380
Abstract: A multi layered sound-proofing structure comprises: a first layer comprising a light aggregate and a binder and having a bulk density of from 0.1 to 2.0 g/cm.sup.3 and void fraction as continuous void of from 15 to 60%; a second layer of a material having a quality to insulate relatively high frequency sounds and penetrate relatively low frequency sounds; a third layer comprising a light aggregate and a binder, the same as or different from those of the first layer and having a bulk density of from 0.1 to 2.0 g/cm.sup.3 and void fraction as continuous void of from 15 to 60%, the first and second layers each overlying the third layer; and a fourth layer of a material having a high sound-insulating ability and covering all surfaces of a layered structure of said first, second and third layers except for the sound incident surface of said first layer. A perforated plate may be provided over the sound incident surface of the first layer with an air space therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4094350
Abstract: A screw and complementary screw driver for use in relatively inaccessible places where, with conventional tools, difficulty would be encountered in locating the screw on end of screw driver in axial alignment therewith. Screw driver has a generally V-shaped screw engaging means having a root portion extending from screw driver stem, and a transverse portion interconnecting root portion with an oblique portion, the oblique portion extending obliquely to transverse portion. Screw has bridge portion with clearance passage extending under bridge portion to accept the V-shaped means, passage having clearance at inner and outer ends for insertion and removal of screw driver. Stop member is threaded onto outer end of oblique portion to draw screw driver into axial alignment with screw and to maintain screw on end of screw driver for all inclinations of screw driver.

  • Patent number: 4094105
Abstract: A cam grinding machine is provided wherein a wheel head is fed toward a rocking table carrying a work spindle so as to grind a cam roughly in a first step and finely in a second step successive thereto, and a speed-switchable motor is operated in such a way as to drive the work spindle and the rocking table at a fast speed in the first step and at a slow speed in the second step. The grinding machine is further provided with a motor control circuit which is arranged to switch the motor from the fast speed to the slow speed, with a delay of time that is required for the cam to rotate at least one revolution after the switching of the grinding step from the first step to the second one, so that an excessive infeed caused by the spring-back action of the cam can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 4094216
Abstract: An adjustable tool including at least two tool parts, each having a work engaging surface, the parts being interconnected such that the work engaging surfaces are relatively movable, an elongated rotary and reciprocal, threaded actuator operatively associated with a part such that upon rotation or reciprocation of the actuator, relative movement between the parts will occur, a tool base mounting the parts in the actuator and a clutch on the base and receiving the actuator for selectively engaging or disengaging the threads on the actuator, the actuator being substantially freely reciprocal within the base when the threads are disengaged to allow rapid relative movement between the work engaging surfaces to occur to effect rapid adjustment of the relative position of the surfaces, the actuator being rotatable when the threads are engaged to effect fine adjustment and/or the application of clamping force by the work engaging surfaces. Also disclosed is an improved clutch construction.

  • Patent number: 4092880
Abstract: An insulation stripping apparatus for partially removing an end section of insulation sheathing or covering of an electrical conductor or the like, comprising a thrust or push rod arranged to be axially displaceable in a housing and acting against the restoring force of a spring. A holder clamp is operatively connected with the thrust or push rod. The holder clamp with the thrust rod and a stripper clamp arranged in the holder clamp and force-lockingly connected with a traction rod provided in the thrust rod, are guided to be axially displaceable in a sleeve fixedly connected with the housing.

  • Patent number: 4090330
Abstract: A correction device for the rolling tape tension on a gear grinding machine, especially a form grinding machine for spur and helical cylindrical gears, comprising tapes subjected to an initial basic tension at rest, the tapes being attached at one end to a rolling block, and there occurring between the rolling block and the tapes a relative rolling action. The tapes are attached at their other end to a tape stand which is movable to-and-fro. At the tape stand intermediate pieces or tape clamps are mounted on a device which imparts an additional torque on the rolling block. A gauging device measures the tension in the rolling tapes and compares it with the initial tension of the system at rest.
