  • Patent number: 11590890
Abstract: The present teaching relates to method, system, and medium, for generating an augmented alert in a hybrid vehicle. First information indicating an upcoming switch in an operating mode of the vehicle is received, which specifies a set of tasks, arranged in an order, to be completed by a driver in the vehicle to achieve the upcoming switch, and a task duration for each of the set of tasks by which the task is to be completed. A current state of the driver is obtained and used to determine a set of warnings to alert the driver to perform the set of tasks. Each warning corresponds to a task in the set of tasks and is created based on the current state of the driver. A warning schedule is generated based on the set of warnings in the order of the set of tasks and transmitted so that warnings in the warning schedule are delivered to the driver.

Abstract: The techniques of this disclosure relate to a system for transmitting radio frequency signals. The system includes a controller in communication with a first device fixed within a first housing attached to an exterior of a vehicle. The system also includes a second device fixed within a second housing attached to the exterior of the vehicle. The controller determines whether the first housing and the second housing are in a first position or in a second position. When the first housing and the second housing are in the first position, the controller transmits first radio frequency signals via the first device and via the second device. When the first housing and the second housing are in the second position, the controller transmits second radio frequency signals via the first device and via the second device. • Patent number: 11528061
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, calculating a Fresnel zone about a line of sight (LoS) between a pair of antennas positioned on antenna mounts. The Fresnel zone is projected onto a geospatial grid of 3D cells, each having a height above a horizontal plane. Cells that intersect the Fresnel zone projection are selected to obtain a subset cells with constraint heights determined according to heights of the subset cells that are adjusted according to the Fresnel zone. The LoS is revised according to an algorithm to obtain a set of updated LoS. Those updated LoS that do not intersect the set of adjusted constraint heights are identified as solutions that include an optimal solution, should one exist. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11516059
Abstract: Saturation of an A/D converter at a receiver is addressed by forcing a controlled clipping of a peak signal pulse in the analog domain and restoring the pulse using a digital algorithm within the receiver. An A/D converter saturates and clips the peak pulses in the signal. Saturated peaks are restored by an algorithm operating in a baseband digital signal processor that utilizes information related to the time intervals where clipping was applied, along with information associated with the portion of the pulse below the clipping threshold. The time interval information is available from the A/D converter or through use of a separate pulse clipping detection algorithm. Through the use of embodiments of the present invention, the effect of signal clipping on receiver performance is reduced and therefore allows for increased clipping of the received signal.

  • Patent number: 11485318
Abstract: A portable access device for wirelessly gaining access to a vehicle includes a transceiver, receive and transmit queues, and a control module. The transceiver, during a current connection event, receives first notification messages from a PaaK system of the vehicle and in response thereto transmits second notification messages to the PaaK system. The first notification messages and the second notification message are transmitted to establish a communication link between the portable access device and the PaaK system. The receive queue receives the first notification messages. The transmit queue stores the second notification messages. The control module, based on a first one of the first notification messages, determines what data was transmitted during a last connection event prior to the current connection event and generates one or more of the second notification messages to include data not previously received during the last connection event.

  • Patent number: 11489571
Abstract: A communication system includes a variable device, which is one of a management device and a terminal device, having an antenna determination unit and a transmission instruction unit. State information is information indicating a state of a housing that houses the communication system. The antenna determination unit is configured to determine a transmission antenna as an applicable antenna for a wireless communication with a target device in order to achieve a predetermined communication quality when it is determined that the state of the housing has changed based on the state information. The target device, which is the other of the management device and the terminal device, is a device with which the variable device communicates. A transmission instruction unit instructs a wireless communication device in the variable device to perform the wireless communication with the target device by using the applicable antenna.

  • Patent number: 11483106
Abstract: Systems and methods for the secure transmission of data and algorithms are disclosed. The coding and modulation schemes meet the need of low signal-to-noise (SNR) ratio applications in areas of high interference. A radio transmitter is used to transmit data signals and a radio receiver is used to receive signals. The new coding algorithms and modulation for wideband communication at very low SNR domains. Systems use orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing modulation and a channel pilot algorithm for timing synchronization and frame alignment. Systems also use an orthogonal code, a super orthogonal convolutional code, and a block code to achieve channel capacity within 80% of the Shannon limit in the subzero decibel (dB) domain with reasonable decoding complexity. In an implementation example given, a 12.5 MHz band radio can transmit at a 108 kbps user data rate at ?20 dB SNR and escape adversity detection.
