  • Patent number: 7079166
Abstract: A graphical user interface in which a summary list screen displays a plurality of settings for a plurality of respective features, and includes a plurality of tabs corresponding to additional screens and for selecting the corresponding additional screens to be displayed. The corresponding additional screens include the plurality of settings from the summary list screen and additional settings. An indicator, such a mouse controlled by a user, selects one of the plurality of settings in the summary list screen. A controller then changes a display from the summary list screen to one of the additional screens containing the selected one of the plurality of settings, and highlights the selected one of the plurality of settings in the additional screen. Further, the indicator can include a first instruction to change between different of the plurality of settings in the summary list screen and a second instruction to automatically change from the summary list screen to one of the additional screens.

  • Patent number: 7073124
Abstract: When the drafting operation with a display drafting apparatus and the generating operation with a control program schema generator proceed concurrently or separately, a step of temporarily storing the device of interest for display can be omitted to enhance the drafting efficiency. Conventionally, drafting the display was conducted in such a way as to temporarily store (memorize, or store with the file) a device of a controller for use, set up the specifications of the display at steps of selecting a display component, selecting display mode and function, and then call back the temporarily stored device to perform the operation of selecting the device symbol and number. This invention starts with the selection of a desired device, as such, there is no need of the temporary storage, resulting in enhanced drafting efficiency.

  • Patent number: 6983422
Abstract: Computer controlled processes rely upon graphical user interfaces to effect the man-machine interface. The page windows of the present invention are comprised of a base image screen that includes regions responsive to control and status stimuli, as well as static graphic representations. The base image screen is merged with a secondary image, which includes regions responsive to control and status stimuli, as well as static graphic representations. The process of merging the secondary image includes preventing the display of certain control and status regions on the base image, as dictated by the secondary image. Multiple secondary screens can be merged on the base image screen, thereby allowing multiple page windows to be created using only a base image and a plurality of secondary screens.

  • Patent number: 6828990
Abstract: The user interface is provided to aid a user in preparation of a document having precut tabbed pages. The user interface allows tab content, including monochrome or color text and graphics, to be automatically positioned on the tabs of the precut tabbed pages. The user may enter all the tab content information at one time or, alternatively, may enter tab information during processing of the document. The user interface further provides the ability to view a graphical representation of the arranged precut tabbed pages with the appropriate tab content.

  • Patent number: 6697090
Abstract: When a user drags and drops a digital camera category icon 705 onto a printer category icon 702, an application unit 112 detects the drag and drop action (S106). The application unit 112 gains access to a server 400 (S108), and obtains data regarding the names of individual digital cameras and the names of individual printers present on a network 500 and corresponding icons, out of pieces of information stored in a common database 410 (S110). The application unit 112 subsequently opens a digital camera category window 601 and a printer category window 602 on a screen 182 of a monitor 180, based on the obtained data, and causes device icons of the digital cameras and device icons of the printers to be displayed simultaneously but separately in the window 601 and in the window 602 (step S112). This arrangement ensures the user good usability and operatability when the user requires some operation between an arbitrary set of devices.
