Abstract: Embodiments of negative pressure wound therapy systems and methods for operating the systems are disclosed. In one embodiment, a negative pressure wound therapy apparatus can include a wound dressing, a negative pressure source, and a controller. The negative pressure source can provide negative pressure via a fluid flow path to the wound dressing. The controller can monitor a rate of fluid removal from the wound, wirelessly communicate the rate of fluid removal to a remote device, and output an indication when the rate of fluid removal meets a threshold.

Abstract: An eye drop alignment assembly includes a ring that has a bottle of eye drops being extendable therethrough. The ring has a plurality of engagements thereon and the engagements are spaced apart from each other and are positioned at strategic points around the ring. A plurality of legs is each movably coupled to a respective one of the engagements. A plurality of extensions is each pivotally coupled to a respective one of the legs. Each of the extensions is positionable at a selected angle with respect to the respective leg for aligning with a respective top and bottom eyelid. Additionally, each of the extensions spaces the ring away from the eyeball associated with a top and bottom eyelids. In this way the ring aligns the bottle of eye drops with the eyeball for successfully dispensing eye drops onto the eyeball.
Abstract: A disposable nursing device with a urine and feces back-leakage prevention collection function includes a nursing pants body, a urine and feces collection bag and a catch tray. The nursing pants body is provided with a connecting port. The urine and feces collection bag is provided with an outer layer and an inner layer. The outer layer is a soft non-woven fabric, and the inner layer is a polymer absorption layer. A bottom portion of the urine and feces collection bag is closed, and a top portion of the urine and feces collection bag is provided with a bag opening. A urine and feces collection opening is arranged at a middle of the catch tray, and one side of the catch tray is connected with the bag opening of the urine and feces collection bag, and is connected with the connecting port on the nursing pants body.

Abstract: An extracorporeal system for lung assist includes a housing which includes a blood flow inlet in fluid connection with a pressurizing stator compartment, a fiber bundle compartment in fluid connection with the pressurizing stator compartment via a flow channel within the housing, and a blood flow outlet in fluid connection with the fiber bundle compartment. An impeller is rotatably positioned within the pressurizing compartment. The system further includes a fiber bundle within the fiber bundle compartment. A plurality of hollow gas permeable fibers of the fiber bundle extend generally perpendicular to the direction of bulk flow of blood through the fiber bundle compartment from the flow channel to the blood flow outlet.

Abstract: A push release closed system drug transfer apparatus for easy and secure drug transfer includes a cylindrical housing having a cylindrical housing having a top end, an outer wall, and a bottom end forming an inner cavity. The top end has a syringe aperture to receive a syringe. A needle tube is coupled to the cylindrical housing and extends from the syringe aperture to a principal aperture to receive a needle of the syringe. Abstract: An enhanced tubular sleeve for handling a urinary catheter including a number of features that render usage of urinary catheters much easier and reduce discomfort. The sleeve may be formed of bonded sheets of flexible material having rounded distal ends. Or, the sheets may only be bonded in a proximal portion with their distal portions left unattached. Abstract: Absorbent articles herein may include components having graphics including unmasked and masked zones, wherein the masked zones are defined by alternating arranged printed and unprinted regions. The masked zones give the appearance that the graphics fade or gradually transition from areas of relatively high print intensities in the unmasked zones to areas of relatively low print intensities. In addition, the graphics may be printed with relatively constant print densities in both masked and unmasked zones, and thus, avoid many of the unintended negative effects and difficulties associated with printing graphics with faded zones of print intensities. As such, substrates and/or components to be incorporated into manufactured absorbent articles include graphics include masked zones that may be positioned and/or printed in such a manner so as to functionally reduce noticeable visible results of imprecise and/or inconsistent assembly operations performed in areas where the graphics are located.

Abstract: Fluid delivery devices and methods are described, where the device may comprise a piezoelectric actuator operatively coupled to an ampoule with fluid, under a preloading force. The ampoule may comprise a thin-walled thermoplastic package which includes one or more apertures positioned on the wall of the ampoule. The piezoelectric actuator may be configured to clamp at least partially around the circumference of the ampoule and apply oscillations to its wall. The oscillations, typically in ultrasonic frequency, produce cycles of acoustic pressure in the fluid, leading to ejection of the fluid droplets or streams from the apertures.

Abstract: A system for removing and donning a disposable absorbent article by using a separate robotic device includes an absorbent assembly having an inner layer that partly defines a body-facing surface, an outer layer that defines a garment-facing surface, and an absorbent body disposed between the inner and outer layers.
