  • Patent number: 10045120
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for generating a model of the geometric relationships between various audio sources recorded by a multi-camera system. The spatial audio scene module associates source signals, extracted from recorded audio, of audio sources to visual objects identified in videos recorded by one or more cameras. This association may be based on estimated positions of the audio sources based on relative signal gains and delays of the source signal received at each microphone. The estimated positions of audio sources are tracked indirectly by tracking the associated visual objects with computer vision. A virtual microphone module may receive a position for a virtual microphone and synthesize a signal corresponding to the virtual microphone position based on the estimated positions of the audio sources.

  • Patent number: 9972356
Abstract: Techniques for summarizing media are described. A viewer-interaction analyzer receives a media file containing media, the media file including a plurality of segments. A segment of the media file is scored based on interactions of a set of raters. Viewer metrics on the segment of the media file are measured based on interactions with the segment of the media file by a set of viewers. A set of feature vectors are formed based on the measured viewer interactions, where feature vectors in the set of feature vectors are based on interactions of the set of viewers. A model is trained based on the set of feature vectors and the score assigned to the segment of the media file. The model is applied to segments of the media file to generate an interest rating for segments of the media file. An edited media file is generated based on segments of the media file having interest ratings that meet a criterion.

  • Patent number: 9966108
Abstract: A playback speed effect is applied to a video using a playback speed template. The playback speed template specifies playback speed ratios (i.e., ratios between playback duration and capture duration) at the highlight moment, at a template start time, and at a template end time. A video associated with a highlight tag indicating a highlight capture time of a highlight moment within the video is accessed. An input portion of the video including the highlight moment is identified. The duration of the input portion has a duration depending on the template start time and the template end time. A playback speed template is applied to the input portion. A modified video including a modified video portion is generated from the input portion of the video according to the applied playback speed template and is provided for subsequent playback.

  • Patent number: 9959906
Abstract: A method and a receiver device configured to mark a media content sequence comprising a succession of media frames. A decoder included in the receiver device selects at least two decoded consecutive media frames from the media content sequence according to a predefined information code previously stored in a configuration setting memory of the receiver device. A marking module associated to the decoder inserts a transition effect between the at least two selected decoded consecutive media frames including a preceding media frame and at least one immediately following media frame. The transition effect is retrieved from a library of transition effects stored in a memory associated to the marking module and applied on the basis of the preceding media frame and the at least one immediately following media frame.

  • Patent number: 9952162
Abstract: An optical inspection system inspects points of interest on an item. A two-axis gimbal holds a camera and is controlled to adjust an angle of incidence and angle of approach of a line of sight of the camera with respect to the point of interest. A Y-axis actuator adjusts a position of the camera along a Y-axis of the item, and an X-axis actuator adjusts a position of the camera along an X-axis of the item. A controller controls the gimbal, the Y-axis actuator and the X-axis actuator. Upon selecting a point of interest, angle of incidence, and angle of approach, the camera displays and/or captures an image, and the image can be inspected by a human inspector or automated inspection system.
