Abstract: A modular and portable shelter is disclosed. The shelter includes a base designed to sit on a surface, such as the ground. The shelter also includes support poles, with each support pole including a first end that releasably couples to the base and a second end. Additionally, the shelter includes a hub defining a openings along an outer perimeter thereof, with each opening being angled downwardly and slidably receiving a respective second end of a respective support pole. Further disclosed is a shelter system which includes portable shelters positioned adjacently and coupled via connecting rods. The connecting rods detachably connect between the hubs of the adjacent portable shelters to form a larger overall structure.

Abstract: The umbrella for pets comprises an umbrella, a front support, and a rear support. The umbrella may be adapted to shield a pet from weather. As non-limiting examples, the weather may comprise rain, snow, sleet, sunshine, or combinations thereof. The front support and the rear support may be adapted to removably couple to the pet and may hold the umbrella above the pet. The front support and the rear support may pivot up against a canopy of the umbrella for storage and transportation. In some embodiments, a left side panel and a right side panel may detachably couple to the sides of the umbrella to provide additional shielding from wind-blown weather. In some embodiments, a carrying bag may be uniquely adapted to transport the umbrella when not in use on the pet.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for implementing a vehicle sun and rain shield that converts to a pop-up sheltered compartment. The apparatus semi-permanently attaches to the roof of any vehicle. The device is easy to install and does not interfere with the parking and storage profile of the vehicle. The device is sized to fit within the perimeter of any vehicle roof when deployed. The device is easily opened and closed to provide added sun and rain protection. The device has moveable panels that extend beyond the vehicle roof to provide sun and rain protection. The moveable panels deflect in response to contact. The moveable panels also lock in a position perpendicular with the plane of the roof to provide the pop-up sheltered compartment. The sheltered compartment is useful for storing items or providing temporary shelter for users.

Abstract: An umbrella assembly is described in which a spring assisted movement of a knob away from or toward an umbrella handle respectively deploys or retracts a canopy and a plurality of support ribs. In the deployed position, each rib curves and keeps the canopy under tension. Elastic potential energy of a spring located within a body interior space deploys or retracts the ribs and canopy out of or into the body interior space, respectively.

Abstract: A temporary shelter is configured to accommodate a human user. The temporary shelter includes a solid floor joined to a canopy housing with a support structure. A plurality of solid floor cavities is arranged in the solid floor. A plurality of canopy walls is joined to the canopy housing, and adjacent to the solid floor, and the support structure. A chair fits into the plurality of solid floor cavities. The human user can be accommodated within the support structure on the chair.

Abstract: An outdoor shelter and a rail system for the outdoor shelter are described herein. The outdoor shelter may include a plurality of corner support members disposed at respective corners of the outdoor shelter, the plurality of corner support members including a first corner support member, a second corner support member, a third corner support member, and a fourth corner support member; a plurality of peripheral beam members, a first one of the plurality of peripheral beam members configured to extend in a longitudinal direction between the first and third corner support members, and a second one of the plurality of peripheral beam members configured to extend in a transverse direction between the first and second corner support members; and a shade member disposed above at least one of the first and second ones of the plurality of peripheral beam members.

Abstract: A foldable tent center lock device with a rotary unlocking structure, which includes a center telescopic rod. The center telescopic rod includes an outer tube and an inner tube. An upper end of the outer tube is fixedly provided with a top disc. A lower end of the inner tube is fixedly provided with a bottom disc assembly. The bottom disc assembly includes a bottom disc body, a rotating disc cooperating rotatably with the bottom disc body, and a locking member mounted cooperatively between the bottom disc body and the rotating disc and used for being in locking cooperation with the outer tube. The center telescopic rod can be retracted so that the foldable tent inner center lock is locked and a foldable tent is expanded. When the rotary disc rotates, the rotating disc unlocks the locking member, so that the center telescopic rod extends to fold the foldable tent.

Abstract: A personal pop-up pod includes an interior chamber formed by a connection of several panels: a front panel, a rear panel, left and right side panels, and a top panel. The personal pop-up pod also includes first and second arm apertures formed in the rear panel, a window in one of the side panels, and a zipper arranged to open and close the window. A bottom edge of the front panel includes an elastic strip so that the bottom edge of the front panel may closely conform around a region of a patient when the patient's head is located in the interior chamber. As such, the personal pop-up pod defines a containment that allows a patient to undergo a medical examination or medical procedure while protecting one or both of the caregiver and the patient from contamination of each other.

Abstract: A shelter system may include a roof structure with a hub structure, a plurality of roof pole structures connectable to the hub structure and positionable to extend outwardly from the hub structure, and a fabric panel configured to be at least partially suspended from the roof pole structures. The fabric panel may include a reversible pocket. The roof structure is configurable between a stowed configuration and a deployed configuration. When the roof structure is in the stowed configuration, the hub structure and at least a portion of each roof pole structure may be positioned in the reversible pocket. When the roof structure is in the deployed configuration, the hub structure may be positioned above or outside of the reversible pocket. The shelter system may further include a rainfly that is positionable over the fabric panel with a gap between the rainfly and the fabric panel for airflow.

Abstract: A rollator walker assembly with locking mechanism includes a walker including a pair of front legs and a pair of back legs, each said front leg and back leg having an upper end and a lower end, the walker being switchable between an unfolded position and a folded position; and a locking mechanism adapted to secure a front leg and a back leg when the walker is in the folded position, wherein the locking mechanism is connected to the front leg at a position closer to the front leg's lower end than the front leg's upper end, and wherein the locking mechanism is connected to the back leg at a position closer to the back leg's lower end than the back leg's upper end.

Abstract: An umbrella includes an umbrella column having a top portion hingedly fitted with one end of a connecting rod, and the other end of the connecting rod is hingedly fitted with a pull rod. One side of the umbrella column has a chute, an armrest shell is slidably fitted in the chute, one end of the pull rod is hingedly fitted with an upper umbrella tray, and the other end of the pull rod is fixedly connected to a handle base. The rope reel set is used to wind an umbrella rope, and extends into an umbrella tray assembly along the pull rod. The handle base is hingedly fitted with the armrest shell located at an inner side of the umbrella column and provided for fitting with the chute. The armrest shell is movably positioned along the chute.

Abstract: A hand-push umbrella has a column, an upper nest at the top of the column, a lower nest on the column, a plurality of long rods having an upper end mounted on the upper nest and a plurality of first short rods having a lower end mounted on the lower nest and an upper end hinged to the middle portion of the long rod; a first retainer ring sleeved on the column above the lower nest and fixed with the column, a handle is connected to the bottom of the lower nest, and a handle control mechanism is disposed inside the lower nest. The umbrella is simple and can be easily unfolded and folded. A tray and a plurality of second short stretchers greatly strengthen the support to the canopy and improve the stability of the structure.

The pole extends along a longitudinal axis and has a rotatable portion coupled with the canopy and a lower portion to which the rotatable portion is rotatably coupled at a connection location. A lower end of the rotatable portion is disposed within an upper end of the lower portion. A rotation assembly configured to rotate the rotatable portion of the pole is provided. The rotation assembly has a hand grip and a drive ring disposed around the rotatable portion of the pole. The hand grip applies torque to the drive ring and thereby to the rotatable portion of the pole. The hand grip and the drive ring are configured to move along the longitudinal axis of the pole to disengage a locking assembly to permit rotation of the rotatable portion of the pole relative to the lower portion of the pole.

Abstract: An ambulatory assist device provides mobility assistance for an ambulatory transition between seated and standing positions. A mobile frame defines a structure similar to a walker device. The mobile frame includes a plurality of wheels for rolling communication with a ground surface. Lift arms, driven by an actuator, pivot around an axis of a cross member attached to the frame. The lift arm is configured for actuated pivotal movement for an ambulatory transition between seated and standing positions by a harness engaging the patient. The pivot is based on an arc of patient movement between the sitting and standing positions, such that the arc emulates natural movements of a human skeletal frame during an ambulatory transition. The patient experiences forces along the same path that an unassisted transition would encounter. Once in an ambulatory position, the device allows ambulatory movement in a manner similar to a walking assist (walker) device.

Abstract: The invention features a dual shade apparatus adapted to provide shade to an individual or individuals while the individual(s) is/are outside and in need of shade from sunlight. Aspects of embodiments of the present invention contemplate a dual shade apparatus that is easily portable and easily adapted to the sun's changing positions, thereby providing the individual(s)/user(s) with shade from sunlight.

Abstract: The Platform-Lift Walker is a walker featuring a vertical driving platform that can lift objects from the ground while the user is standing. Similarly, the Platform-Lift Walker can lower objects to the ground while the user is standing. The Platform-Lift Walker offers users with balance or bending mobility issues an alternative to commercially available picker or grabber devices that are often difficult to use or unable to lift heavier objects. The Platform-Lift Walker includes a walker, a lifting mechanism, and a platform.

Abstract: A protective device configured to provide a user with body protection includes an umbrella having a canopy and a centrally positioned shaft extending from a center of the canopy. The shaft includes a telescopic stem configured to support the protective device when configured in its extended position. A plurality of umbrella spines extends from the centrally positioned shaft in a radial direction from the center of the canopy. Each umbrella spine has a proximate end originating adjacent the centrally positioned shaft and a distal end spaced apart from and opposite the proximate end. The distal end houses a telescoping rigid segment that is configured for radial extension from the distal end. The protective device further includes a protective member extending from a peripheral edge of the canopy. According to an aspect, the rigid segment is configured to support the protective member in the radially extended position.
