  • Patent number: 10632967
Abstract: A vehicle alarm system includes a first device mounted on a vehicle, and a second device mounted on the vehicle. The first device authenticates the second device by first wireless communication processing with the second device, detects that a state of the vehicle is changed in a predetermined pattern in a case where the second device is successfully authenticated, and outputs a predetermined alarm instruction when the first device detects that the first wireless communication processing is stopped. The second device authenticates a portable terminal device by second wireless communication processing with the portable terminal device, and performs the first wireless communication processing with the first device in a case where the portable terminal device is successfully authenticated. The first device causes the second device to stop the first wireless communication processing when the first device detects a predetermined first state change of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10636280
Abstract: A cargo tracking apparatus for detecting proximity to a cargo structure includes a cargo sensor, a location sensor, a wireless transmitter, and a processor, all disposed within a housing that is configured to be attached to the cargo structure. The cargo sensor, which is adjacent a sensor window in the housing, detects a portion of the cargo structure disposed near the sensor window and generates a cargo sensor signal based on detection or lack of detection of the cargo structure. The location sensor generates location information based on the location of the cargo tracking apparatus. The processor receives the cargo sensor signal and the location information, and based thereon generates alert messages that contain the location information and information indicative of whether the cargo structure is disposed near the cargo tracking apparatus. The wireless transmitter transmits the alert messages.

  • Patent number: 10592711
Abstract: Systems and methods to determine kinematical parameters of physical objects using radio frequency identification (RFID) tags attached to the objects. In one embodiment, one of a population of RFID tags is selectively instructed by an RFID reader to backscatter the interrogating electromagnetic wave and thus allow the RFID reader to measure the position, speed, acceleration, and/or jerk of the object to which the tag is attached. The RFID reader combines the signal representing the backscattered interrogating electromagnetic wave and the signal representing the interrogating electromagnetic wave transmitted by the RFID reader to determine or monitor one or more of the kinematical parameters of the object.
