  • Patent number: 10358098
Abstract: A vehicle speaker system includes a speaker having a diaphragm that generates a sound pressure, a frame that supports the diaphragm vibratably, and a driving unit attached to the frame to drive the diaphragm. A position of the speaker relative to a partition separating a vehicle-cabin inner space and an engine compartment inner space is determined so that the sound pressure generated by an action of the diaphragm passes through an opening in the partition. A shield member is provided with at least a part thereof being located between the speaker and an obstacle generation source located in the engine compartment inner space to obstruct an operation of the speaker. An open part allowing a first space provided between the speaker and the shield member to communicate with the engine compartment inner space is provided in such a direction as not to be directed toward the obstacle generation source.

  • Patent number: 10349159
Abstract: A headset mountable microphone shield for obscuring the lips of a wearer of a conventional headset with hands free microphone. The headset mountable microphone shield includes a shield body which defines a planar member sized to obscure the mouth of a person and which is integrated with a clip member which defines an elongated limb with a front side and a back side. The clip member is attachable to a stem which connects a hands free microphone to a conventional headset through a pair of clips on its back side and secured in place with fastening screws which operate in conjunction with the clips. As such, a user can slide the stem into the clips and tighten the fastening screws, thereby wedging the stem against the clip such that it is held in place.

  • Patent number: 10299037
Abstract: Identification and management of audio output outlets connected to a user device is described. Once one or more audio output outlets connected to a user device are identified, an audio signal is forwarded to each detected audio output outlet and in an event the audio signal forwarded to an audio output outlet is detected by an internal audio sensor of the user device, that audio output outlet is designated as a loudspeaker. Audio output outlets designated as loudspeakers are muted when the user device is in silent mode. If the audio signal forwarded to an audio output outlet is not detected by the internal audio sensor of the user device, that audio outlet is marked as a private speaker. Audio output outlets designated as private speakers remain in an audible state even when the user device is in silent mode.

  • Patent number: 10250964
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to custom-fit in-ear audio devices. The custom-fit earpieces disclosed herein may include features providing superior retention in a user's ear while also maintaining desirable comfort and sound quality. The superior retention is generally provided by a curable filler disposed in a bladder that is deformed to conform to the shape of a user's outer ear as the filler material is cured. It has been found that a desired comfort level and sound quality can be achieved in a custom-fit earpiece by physically separating or at least partially decoupling the audio output member from other portions of the earpiece that are designed to enable the retention of the custom-fit earpiece within the user's ear.
