  • Patent number: 7068005
Abstract: A motor controller having a damper that dampens resonance in a motor drive of a common mode filter to prevent it from becoming over excited by operation of the motor drive at a resonant frequency of the common mode filter. The damper is connected to an output feeder line of a motor drive in the motor controller and provides a common mode path to ground for the common mode filter. Thus, even if the motor drive is operating at a resonant frequency of the common mode filter, the resulting resonance in the common mode filter is attenuated by rather than amplified by the common mode filter, thereby preventing the common mode filter from excessive excitation.

  • Patent number: 7059891
Abstract: An electrical connecting and fastening apparatus includes a guide arrangement for respectively connecting a plurality of conductors of a hollow cable with a plurality of stationary contacts mounted in circumferentially spaced relation within a bore contained in one end of a cylindrical socket member, the guide arrangement being so operable that as the cable is progressively inserted into the socket member bore, the leading end of the cable is rotated and twisted about its longitudinal axis relative to the remaining portion of the cable and to the socket member, thereby to effect positive electrical engagement between the conductors and the stationary contacts, respectively. In a first embodiment, the conductors are insulated, and the contacts are of the insulation piercing type. In another embodiment, the conductors are bare, and the stationary contacts are resilient and are biased toward engagement with the conductors. A lock nut arrangement serves to lock the cable to the socket member.

  • Patent number: 7056128
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a high density electrical connector which can provide 80 or more twinax connections per linear inch in a 20 millimeter card slot. In a typical electronic system package, 20 millimeters is the spacing from center line to center line of the adjacent parallel daughtercards. Twinax cable is coaxial cable that contains two .inner conducting wires rather than one. The two inner conducting wires provide two physical channels. Coaxial cable is called “coaxial” because it includes one physical channel that carries the signal surrounded (after a layer of insulation) by another concentric physical channel, both running along the same axis. The outer channel serves as ground.

  • Patent number: 7056139
Abstract: An electrical connector that has an array of conductors each having a contact point to make contact with a mating conductive surface. Upon engaging the contact points in a sliding manner with the mating surface, the conductors are displaced, which, in turn, tensions a loading fiber within the connector. Tensioning of the loading fiber provides a contact force between the contact points and the mating surface.

  • Patent number: 7052298
Abstract: A compact traveling-use power adapter structure comprises primarily a casing and several adjustable adapting plugs. The adjustable adapting plugs are installed on two sides at the bottom of the lower casing, and rotate toward a common grounding terminator in the center of the adjustable adapting plugs, thereby achieving the object of storage or opening for use. The two adjustable adapting plugs contain adjustable contact terminators, respectively. In using the aforementioned structure, a power plug of an electronic product is directly inserted into the power adapter, after rotating and opening the adjustable adapting plugs at the bottom of the casing, and adjusting the position or angle of their contact terminators, thereby improving the practicability and convenience.

  • Patent number: 7029284
Abstract: The present invention is directed towards an electrical contact assembly in a steering wheel that allows the contacts of a primary circuit board to move relative to the corresponding contacts of a secondary circuit board without disengaging the electrical connection. Thus, any minor deviation in the positioning of the primary or secondary circuit board may be compensated for without the loss of electrical contact. The primary circuit board is located in the center of the steering wheel around the steering column. The primary circuit board includes left and right arms which engage and cooperate with left and right button assemblies on the steering wheel to actuate various vehicle controls, such as radio volume and tuning control, in the vehicle. The arms include leaf-spring contacts which resiliently and non-fixedly engage the secondary circuit board which is connected to control buttons on the steering wheel.
