  • Patent number: 4736881
Abstract: An apparatus for joining of two electric conductors, preferably strands or the like, with an easy adaptation to different conductor sizes without having to cover the conductors to be joined with a sleeve. The apparatus comprises a sonotrode (58) generating ultrasonic oscillations, as well as at least one serving as an anvil (60, 62), where the sonotrode on its circumferential surface has at least one recess (68, 70 76, 78) being adapted to conductors to be joined, which recess is starting fron a lateral face of the sonotrode along which an area (76, 78) of the anvil can be moved, said area having a projection (72, 74) adapted to the recess, and where in the position of sonotrode and anvil for joining the conductors, the recess and the coordinated projection are defining a hollow space representing a compression chamber, running parallel or almost parallel to the oscillation axis of the sonotrode and being open on its front faces for inserting the conductors.

  • Patent number: 4535560
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the movement of a group of duck decoys having a decoy support frame attached at one end to an anchored elastic band and at its other end to a line which is attached to a reel and motor. Movement of the decoys is controlled by a voltage controlled timer which turns on and off at variable time intervals. The voltage is generated by the backspin on the motor shaft caused by contraction of the elastic band which has been stretched while the motor is turned on.

  • Patent number: 4499682
Abstract: This fishing lure is heavier than water or has a greater specific gravity than water and thus, the same will sink in water to be fished. The lure has an elongated body having two spaced apart, parallel, side surface portions and two end surface portions connected with said side surface portions. Each side surface face connects with one end surface portion at an acute angle and with the other end surface at an obtuse angle. The opposite side surface face connects with the one end surface portion at an obtuse angle and with the other end portion at an acute angle. The lure body tapers toward both ends and thus the mid portion is sufficiently relatively heavy so that in sinking, the lure remains substantially level and does not sink with either end portion pointing downwardly. As the lure body tends to remain level as the same sinks, the acute angle between an end surface portion and a side surface member facilitates turning or angular movement of the fishing lure about its longitudinal axis as the same sinks.

  • Patent number: 4489772
Abstract: A continuous casting machine for battery grids includes a rotary drum on the outer peripheral surface of which the battery grid pattern is formed by a series of grooves. The peripheral surface of the drum mates with a shoe through which molten lead is directed into the grooves as the drum rotates. The outer periphery of the drum is a shell that is connected to rotary side plates by means of roll pins that enable the shell as a whole to expand and contract independently of the side plates. The drum is maintained at a desired temperature to solidify the molten lead directed into the grooves of the battery grid pattern by circulating a heated liquid through the drum.

  • Patent number: 4483092
Abstract: The apparatus and technique enable a fisherman to store a batch of fish bait morsels on his body in such a way that when he needs one, he can isolate it from the batch and pluck it out of storage on the hook of his line, or between the thumb and one finger of his free hand. According to the technique, a support is formed on his body opposite the front thereof, and a device is pivotally mounted on the support which is adaptable to form an open-ended container for the morsels. The device is swingable between a first position in which the morsels are retained in the container against discharge through the end opening of the same by gravity, and a second position in which one or more morsels tend to discharge through the end opening of the container by gravity. In addition, a recess is formed on the device into which a morsel or morsels can discharge from the end opening of the container when the container is swung between the first and second positions thereof, respectively.
