  • Patent number: 5337966
Abstract: A system and apparatus for size reduction and classification of solids particles to aid in their disposal. The system includes mixing the solids particles in a viscous liquid to form a slurry in a receiving tank, passing the slurry through a series of initial screens and magnets, and circulating the slurry through a series of reduction tanks to a holding tank by vertical fluid mills. The vertical fluid mills include a slurry inlet and outlet and have a rotating shaft to which is mounted a series of rotating perforated disks which rotate in close proximity to and between a pair of stationary blades. The disks and blades are situated between series of impellers mounted on the rotating shaft. The reduction tanks include screens for solids classification and recirculation of the solids particles.

  • Patent number: 5333383
Abstract: A razor handle for movably supporting a flexible, wet-shaving razor unit. The handle includes a cartridge support, operable between a normal position and an advanced position, for providing support to the center of the razor unit during shaving. In the normal position, the razor unit is oriented in a substantially linear configuration, while in the advanced position, the cartridge support is advanced outwards from the housing of the handle mechanism such that the razor unit is oriented in a substantially convex configuration to enhance the shaving of concave body surfaces.

  • Patent number: 5165170
Abstract: A razor having an integral hair detection means, the razor comprising a razor assembly mounted on a handle for brushing against a surface of a person's face and vibrating in response to contact with hairs thereon and a pickup coupled to the handle and responsive to vibrations produced therein for generating a corresponding signal. Electronic or acoustic audio frequency amplifying means are provided within the handle for amplifying the signal from the pickup as an audio frequency output. In use, the person shaving hears the amplified vibrations either directly via a loudspeaker or via an earpiece, so as to obtain feedback relating to the surface quality of the shave.

  • Patent number: 5099577
Abstract: A tube cutter consisting of two frame portions or jaws, being pivoted to one another at their end portions, and further interconnected at their intermediate poritons by a large bolt through which the jaws will move relative to one another about their common pivot. The free end of one jaw carries anvil rollers, and the other jaw free end carries a discoid knife, the anvil roller and knife cooperating in tangentially cutting a tube extending transversely between the jaws free ends. The knife is freely caried by a jaw axle, which is itself freely releasably engaged through the jaw. A spring-loaded band within the knife containing jaw casing frictionally yet releasably locks the knife axle, and thus the knife, in position, by engaging a diametrally smaller portion of the knife axle.

  • Patent number: 4613266
Abstract: There is disclosed herein a punching and binding machine which includes a frame, a laterally-extending row of punch means carried on the frame for guiding movement with respect to the frame and for punching binding apertures. A cover is provided for covering the frame and includes a forwardly extending table generally aligned with the punch for supporting materials to be punched. A guide is mounted to the table for securement at a position to said table. The guide includes at least one surface that in the secured position is selectively movable between a paper engaging position and a cover engaging position, each of these positions being generally transverse to the row of punches. The cover engaging position is laterally and outwardly offset of the paper engaging position. Thus an oversized cover punched using the guide in the cover engaging position with overlay edges of paper punched using the guide means in the paper engaging position.

  • Patent number: 4435001
Abstract: An envelope assembly is provided which includes an outside envelope housing and an insert assembly which may include a return envelope and/or an information ply or plies. The outside envelope is sealed by a line of interconnection around its periphery. The return envelope is sealed on three peripheral sides and has an open edge for use when removed from the outside envelope. The return envelope can be filled and closed. The information ply is attached to the return envelope and remains attached when the outside envelope is opened and the contents removed. The return envelope and the attached information ply is fixed at its inner and outer edges while housed in the closed outside envelope. In this manner, registration is maintained between the outside envelope, the return envelope and the information ply during formation and while indicia is placed thereon.
