  • Patent number: 6837477
Abstract: A proportional pressure-regulator valve comprising a load-dependent control step and a method for the load-dependent regulation of a pressure level of a pressure medium with one proportional pressure-regulator valve. The load-dependent control step is obtained with a proportional magnet (1) having at least two gaps (10, 12) for regulating the magnetic force. The size of the gaps (10, 12) can be adjusted independently of each other. While a first gap (!2) is current-dependent regulated, the size of the second gap (10) can be regulated via a pressure force adaptable in proportion to a load requirement in the hydraulic circuit.

  • Patent number: 6834845
Abstract: A solenoid valve valve part for controlling a fuel injector in a fuel injection system has a valve needle, the open and closed positions of which may be controlled by the solenoid valve valve part. The solenoid valve valve part has a valve ball which rests on a valve seat and which lifts up from the valve seat when current flows through the solenoid valve valve part. The valve seat is in hydraulic connection with the fuel injector via a borehole. When the valve ball lifts up from the valve seat, a pressure medium such as high-pressure fuel flows through the borehole into a pressure relief chamber in the solenoid valve valve part. In the further progression this causes the fuel injector to open. To prevent the formation of cavitation bubbles and the damage thus caused, the borehole includes, at least in part, one or more sections having a cross section which continuously expands in the direction of the valve seat.

  • Patent number: 6811141
Abstract: The present invention provides a valve comprising a conduit, characterized by a longitudinal axis, and a piston disposed within the conduit. The piston is characterized by a longitudinal axis and includes a pilot tip characterized by an operative surface configured to facilitate application of a net force transverse to the longitudinal axis of the piston by gaseous fluid flowing across the operative surface, and thereby bias or urge the piston in a radial or lateral direction relative to the longitudinal axis of the conduit. Fluid flowing across the operative surface is characterized by a flow field, and wherein the operative surface is configured to change the directional component of the flow field, such that the directional component of the flow field changes from a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the conduit to a direction which is angularly displaced from the longitudinal axis of the conduit.

  • Patent number: 6802492
Abstract: A adapter provides for connection of a pressure relief mechanism to a connection fitting portion of a quick connect fitting through a mating connection fitting portion and provides for movement of the pressure relief mechanism against a check valve in a hydraulic fluid conduit through a screw thread connection to the adapter. When the check valve is thus opened fluid flow is provided substantially axially through the pressure relief mechanism, thereby reducing the likelihood of disengagement of respective portions of the quick connect fitting when hydraulic fluid is present. Collection of hydraulic fluid in a vessel connected to the pressure relief mechanism is provided to allow recycling of the fluid and to prevent release of the fluid into the environment.

  • Patent number: 6793197
Abstract: A valve having improved inherent flow characteristics and improved dynamic torque characteristics is provided. The valve includes a disk for controlling fluid flow inside the valve. The disk has at least a sealing surface for sealing with a valve seal when the disk is in a closed position. The sealing surface includes a contour and creates a flow clearance with the valve seal as the disk pivots from a closed position toward an open position. A radius of curvature of the contour defines a size of the flow clearance at predetermined disk positions to characterize flow through the valve. The valve can further include an upstream indentation for dynamic torque reduction and/or an indentation for dynamic torque reduction in case of a fluid flow reversal.

  • Patent number: 6789784
Abstract: An improved seat ring, valve body, and seat ring valve assembly have self-aligning characteristics that reduce leakage without the need for an unacceptably high level of assembly torque. The seat ring includes at least one annular thrust bearing surface rim for receiving a valve plug to open and close the valve. The seat ring further includes threads positioned on its exterior surface for mating with threads in the valve body to provide a secondary seal of the seat ring. In order to prevent unacceptable leakage, a point of contact is provided to seat on an angled body contact surface of the valve to form a superior primary contact seal. The seat ring valve assembly reduces torque requirements, properly aligns the seat ring within the cavity, and reduces leakage.

  • Patent number: 6789779
Abstract: A hydraulic part of a magnet valve is received in a bore of a valve block. The hydraulic part is secured to the valve block with a calked heel of a securing bush that is slipped onto a guide sleeve of the hydraulic part. The securing bush rests on an annular shoulder of the guide sleeve and engages a jacket wall of the guide sleeve with a press fit, and one edge of the securing bush is adapted to a rounded-out throat between the jacket wall and an end wall of the annular shoulder by means of plastic deformation. A valve sleeve engages a portion of the bore of the valve block with a press fit. The calked heel, the plastically deformed edge of the securing bush, and the press fit of the valve bush seals that seal off against fluid are achieved without using additional rubber-elastic sealing means.
