  • Patent number: 5613625
Abstract: A dispenser having an anticounterfeit device associated therewith is presented. The dispenser includes a housing having a first portion and a second portion, wherein the first and second portions cooperate to form a cavity therebetween, the cavity sized to permit a source of a material to be dispensed to be disposed therein; and a lockout element having a first side and a second side and a width and depth, the lockout element mounted to the first portion of the housing, the lockout element having at least one projection extending from a first side thereof such that, when the second side of the lockout element is mounted to the first portion of the housing, the projection extends into the cavity, wherein the lockout element is mounted to the first portion of the housing in any of a plurality of orientations such that the at least one projection extends into the cavity in any of a plurality of locations depending on the orientation in which the lockout element is mounted to the first portion of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5553755
Abstract: In a whipped cream dispenser incorporating a tilt-type aerosol valve the tubular actuator has at its base a downwardly facing annular shoulder. This shoulder, by butting against the metal of the valve pedestal, prevents further tilting and further stress on the tubular valve spout. Further, ribs on the stem and actuator keep the actuator in fully installed position on the valve stem.

  • Patent number: 5476195
Abstract: A collapsible pump chamber is provided which includes several functional elements of a pump device. For example, the collapsible pump chamber may be a bellows which includes a functional element of an outlet vane, a functional element of a biasing feature, and a functional element of a spin chamber. Consequently, a functional element of all of the downstream functions are incorporated into the bellows. This can significantly reduce costs; due to reduced tooling, and assembly, for example. Dunnage means is provided for occupying volume within the collapsible pump chamber to improve pump priming. The dunnage means may be free floating or associated with the inlet valve. A process for severing the functional element of the outlet valve, the functional element of the biasing feature, and the functional element of a spin chamber from the collapsible pump chamber during assembly.

  • Patent number: 5305930
Abstract: The actuating device (1) is adapted to be incorporated into a dispenser provided with a valve (41) having a tubular end (43) which must be pressed in order to discharge the product. The device (1) includes a poppet valve (10), the movement of which is substantially transverse to the axis of the end (43). Action by the user on the push-button results, on the one hand, in opening of the poppet valve (10) and, on the other hand, in pressure being exerted on the tubular end (43) by the use of a film hinge (39). The vertical movement of the push-button is converted into a horizontal movement of the popper valve by means of an orthogonal joint. The product to be dispensed still pass into a chamber rendered airtight by the poppet valve (10) and a flexible collar (13), so that the product, especially a self-foaming product, remains hermetically sealed in the chamber during periods of non-use.

  • Patent number: 5213234
Abstract: A ceramic or plastic pitcher, in the form of a cow, with a hollow body for the purpose of filling with milk or other liquids with a hollow chamber at the rear end of the body for the purpose of housing a gravity activated electronic switch, whereas the switch will produce the sound of an animal when the pitcher will be lifted and tilted to pour the liquid through the mouth of the animal.

  • Patent number: 5211317
Abstract: A low pressure aerosol dispensing can which is distinguished from existing high pressure aerosol dispensing cans. The generally cylindrical can has a thin wall thickness, like that of a carbonated beverage can, which can be distorted by finger pressure but whose shape is maintained by internal gas pressure. The liquid contents to be dispensed and the propellant gas are mixed in the can. The dispensing valve at the top of the can dispenses the liquid contents and propellant in a controlled manner. The valve may include an additional narrow bore vapor tap between the gaseous propellant head space in the can and the valve chamber for delivering extra gas for atomizing the liquid and propelling it from the nozzle. The gas pressure in the can is coordinated with the can wall and bottom thickness so that the can will have sufficient distortion resistance and burst resistance at elevated temperature.
