  • Patent number: 12127042
Abstract: System, methods, and computer-readable media for validating and committing a shared O-RU configuration via a shared O-RU Operator. The shared O-RU Operator validates a partitioned configuration received from a tenant operator, with the ability to indicate to the tenant operator that the partitioned configuration is conformant to agreed-upon sharing rules and then commits the shared configuration to the shared O-RU. The shared O-RU operator shares the outcome of the commit operation to the tenant operator via defined operational-data that can be read by the tenant operator. A single radio in O-RAN is shared by multiple different operators and enables a neutral host to deploy a radio unit and then have that attached to different operators networks.

  • Patent number: 12120564
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for Random Access Channel (RACH) configuration in Layer 1 (L1)/Layer 2 (L2) mobility. A user equipment (UE) may obtain a downlink (DL) Transmission Configuration Indicator (TCI) list from a first Transmission and Reception Point (TRP). The DL TCI list may include DL beam information, RACH Occasion (RO) information, and initial Bandwidth Part (BWP) information associated with each DL TCI of a plurality of DL TCIs related to the first TRP and multiple TRPs adjacent to the first TRP. The UE may receive a handover command from the first TRP via Downlink Control Information (DCI) in Li or Media Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE) in L2. The handover command indicates a handover from the first TRP to a second TRP of the multiple TRPs for the UE, and includes a specified DL TCI related to the second TRP.

  • Patent number: 12101651
Abstract: The described features generally relate to determining dynamic signal quality criteria for an installation of satellite terminals for communications in a satellite communications system. In particular, the signal quality criteria for an installation may be based on an identified position of the satellite terminal to be installed, and in some examples based on the positions and signal characteristics of neighboring satellite terminals that have already been installed. In some examples, a signal quality map may be generated for a service beam coverage area, based on predetermined transmission characteristics and/or measured transmissions from a number of satellite terminals served by a communications satellite. The generated signal quality map may then be used to determine a signal quality threshold for the installation of a satellite terminal being installed for communications in a satellite communications system.

  • Patent number: 12096470
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for non-small data transmission (non-SDT) dedicated radio bearer (DRB) handling while in a radio resource control (RRC) inactive state. A wireless device may determine, while operating in the RRC inactive state, that non-SDT data is available for transmission on a non-SDT DRB and determine, based on one or more conditions, to transmit, to a base station, non-SDT data arrival information during SDT procedure. The one or more conditions may be associated with arrival time of the non-SDT data and/or an amount of non-SDT data to be transmitted. The arrival time may be relative to arrival of SDT data, initiation of an SDT procedure, and/or initiation of a subsequent transmission period of an SDT procedure.

  • Patent number: 12075295
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication that the UE is to perform radio resource management (RRM) measurements at a first periodicity. The UE may identify an RRM measurement relaxation grouping to which the UE belongs based on at least one of a mobility of the UE or a location of the UE within a cell, such as whether the UE is near a cell-edge, or whether the UE is stationary or moving in accordance with low-mobility, or a combination thereof. The UE may determine a first relaxation parameter from a plurality of relaxation parameters based on measurement relaxation criterion associated with the cell, where the plurality of relaxation parameters may be associated with the RRM measurement relaxation grouping. The UE may perform the RRM measurements at a second periodicity that is based on the first relaxation parameter.

  • Patent number: 12075304
Abstract: A system and method may improve service setup time and reliability for user equipment (UE) fallback procedures in cellular networks. Logic in the UE may define an event to trigger a measurement report and send that measurement report to the base station upon initiating fallback procedures. This event and measurement report may allow the 5G base station (g-NB) to know which frequency is going to be the best choice at the time of setting up the voice service by looking at radio signal strength indicators coming from the 5G UE for each frequency in the measurement report. Incorporating the measurement report process into the logic of the UE for call setup that also includes the fallback process for may result in substantially faster call setup time as well as better voice call success rate.
